AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 204,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL
CODE,BY AMENDING SECTION 204.17 TO PROVIDE THAT BUILDING
SEWER MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS SHALL BE THOSE PROVIDED FOR
IN THE STANDARD CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Waukee:
,Section 1.Section 204.17 of Chapter 204 Waukee
Munlclpal Code,Quality of Pipe and Foundation,is hereby
amended by deleting Section 204.17 and substituting in
lleu thereof the following:
§204.17 Quality of Pipe and Foundation.Building
sewer pipes shall be of material and quality
provided for j.n the standard construction
specifications the City of Waukee,Iowa,as
may be adopted by the City of Waukee and
placed on file in the office of the Clerk.
Sewer pipers shall be laid on a smooth
bottom with bell holes cut in the bottom of
the trench so that the length between the
bells has a perfect bearing on the ground.
Joints between the bell and the spigot shall
be water tight,gas tight and root proof.
All sewer pipes must be laid in such a
manner as to prevent rupture by set tlemen t
or freez ing.

Repair of Well #1 was discussed,The Council directed the City
Clerk to get bids for this repair work.
An annexation moratorium was discussed.A 28E agreement is to
be sent to West Des Moines and Clive.
A fire agreement with Clive was discussed.Clive wants the Waukee
Fire Department to help cover their recently annexed territory,
A meeting with Mayor Christianson,Mayor Maddox,Scott Thomas and
Clive Fire Chief will be held Wednesday night.
Luke Gruber reported on the FY 87-88 fire protection meeting with
the Boone and Walnut Township trus tees,

Frank Hoifeldt reported that there was no Public Safety report,
Joe Stork gave the"Utilities report.The Committee recommended
that the maintenance department be 'on call'on weekends and give
1 hour 'c'time per day.
Moved by Tovrea,second by Brown,to have the maintenance depart-
ment be on call with 1 hour TC'time given per day.Carried 5 to

Jerry Brown gave the Parks Committee report.
Moved by Tovrea,second by Hoifeldt,to close City Hall at noon
on Christmas eve day and New Years eve day,Carried 5 to O.
