Repair of Well #1 was discussed,The Council directed the City
Clerk to get bids for this repair work.
An annexation moratorium was discussed.A 28E agreement is to
be sent to West Des Moines and Clive.
A fire agreement with Clive was discussed.Clive wants the Waukee
Fire Department to help cover their recently annexed territory,
A meeting with Mayor Christianson,Mayor Maddox,Scott Thomas and
Clive Fire Chief will be held Wednesday night.
Luke Gruber reported on the FY 87-88 fire protection meeting with
the Boone and Walnut Township trus tees,
Moved by Brown,second by Hoifeldt,to approve pay estimate #4
to Grimes Asphalt and accept the project.Carried 4 to I--Tovrea

Parks Committee,
Frank Hoifeldt reported that there was no Public Safety report,
Joe Stork gave the"Utilities report.The Committee recommended
that the maintenance department be 'on call'on weekends and give
1 hour 'c'time per day.
Moved by Tovrea,second by Brown,to have the maintenance depart-
ment be on call with 1 hour TC'time given per day.Carried 5 to
O.
Jerry Brown gave the Parks Committee report.
Moved by Tovrea,second by Hoifeldt,to close City Hall at noon
on Christmas eve day and New Years eve day,Carried 5 to O.
Brian Redshaw gave the Administrator's report.
Moved by Tovrea,second by Brown,to purchase hams or turkeys for

A special meeting of the Haukee City Council was called to order
at 7:30 p.m.on January 6,1987 by Hayor Gordon Christianson.
Brian Redshaw was present and taking minutes.
A roll call was held with the following Councilmen present:Gruber,
Brown,and Hoifeldt.Absent:Tovrea and Stork.
Moved by Gruber,second by Hoifeldt,to approve the December 9
minutes.Carried 3 to O.
Hoved by Gruber,second by Brown,to anprove the Brenton State
Bank as official depository with the Raccoon Valle;'State Bank,
American Federal Savings and Loan,and Valley National Bank as
alternates.Carried 3 to O.

News as official publication with the Des Moines Register as alter-

Moved by Gruber,second by Brown,to appoint Snyder &Associates

The City Council discussed the proposed Clive fire protection agree-
ment with the City attorney.The City attorney was directed to
write a letter to the Citv of Clive with the proposed changes intheagreement.'....
Paul Huscher discussed the status of the radium removal appeal with
the City Council with some of the discussion centering on·alternative
technologies.
A proposed annexation moratorium agreement with the City of l'lest
Des Moines was·discussed by the Council.

1980 Ford F-700 dump truck from Riedel Truck Sa.Les in Rowan,Iowa
for $7500.00.Carried 3 toO.
Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Gruber,to appoint Paul E Huscher as
City attorney.Carried 3 to O.
Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Brown,to approve an increase in Mr.
Buscher's retainer from $250.00 per mo.to $500.00 per mo.Carried
3 to O.

The regular meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order
at 7:30 p.m.by Hayor Gordon Christianson.
A roll call was held and all Councilmen were present except Tovrea.
Guests and staff at this meeting were:Nick Gruber,Greg Breuer,
Brian Redshaw,Ann Ford,Roger Buffington,Paul Huscher,Virginia
Clark,Randy Krohn,Henry Krohn,Beck Scholes,Chad Scholes,Hendy
Hansen-Hagner,Leigh Davis,and Dick Applegate.
Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Gruber,to approve the minutes of
January 6,1987.Carried 4 to O.
Randy Krohn of Krohn Construction spoke to the Council regarding
the cost sharing on the wa t e r main in Northview Estates Plat #2.
Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Stork,to reconsider the motion of
January 6 not to pay the cost sharing of water main in Northview
Estates Plat 112 for the 12"water main.Carried 3 to l--Gruber
