A special meeting of the Wauke~City Council was called to order at
7:00 p.m.·by Mayor pro-tem,Jerry Brown.
A roll call was taken with the following Councilmen present:
Brown,Hoifeldt,and Stork.Absent:Mayor Christianson and
Tovrea.
Gruber,
Tom
Hoved by Stork,second by Gruber,to hire James J Kern for the
maintenance department at a starting rate of $7.00 per hour beginning
June 1,1987.Carried 4 to O.
Tom Tovrea arrived at 7:17 p.m.
Joe Stork left at 7:33 p.m~
The City Council discussed the proposed water line easement and
annexation of Larry Crane and Clyde Cornelius.Mr Crane requested
that the City install water service lines for both Hr Cornelius
and himself at the City's cost in exchange .for the easement.He
also requested an extension of the gas main between the 2 properties
with the service line cost to be footed by lir Cornelius and himself.
The City Council directed the City Administrator to obtain cost
estimates on the water and gas line extensions from the City
Engineer.He is also to discuss the feasibility of running the
water line near septic tank laterals and field tile.The City
Council agreed to discuss the matter further on June 3 at 7:00 p.m.
Moved by Gruber,second by Tovrea,to adjourn at 8:06 p.m.Carried
4 to O.

A special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order at
8:00 a.m.by Mayor Gordon Christianson.
A roll call was taken and the following Councilmen were present:
Gruber,Tovrea,Hoifeldt and Stork.Absent:Brown.
Brian Redshaw was present and taking minutes.
Hoved by Stork,second by Tovrea,to adopt a resolution assenting
to the annexation of certain real estate.to the City of Waukee,Iowa
as follows:
RESOLUTION NO.53
RESOLUTION ASSENTING TO THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE TO THE
CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,~he City of Waukee,State of Iowa,is a duly organized
municipal corporation,and
WHEREAS,there has been presented to the City Council of said City
an Application for Annexation,as required by Section 368.7 of the
1985 Code of Iowa,executed by the attached petitioners,the owners
of the rear-estate to be annexed,said real estate lying adjacent
to the existing City limits of the City with the own er s of the parcels
shown,on the accompanying plat in EXHIBIT "A"attached hereto,and

WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa,desires to annex said territory
upon the Application heretofore presented;
NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Waukee,Iowa as follows:
1.That the Application for Annexation of the real estate as des-
cribed in Exhibit "A"attached hereto is hereby approved.
2.That upon approval by the City Development Board this territory
shall thereafter be and become a part of the City of Waukee,Iowa.
3.That the Clerk shall forthwith cause this Resolution and the
exhibit attached hereto be filed with the City Development Board
as required by Section 368.7 of the 1985 Code of Iowa.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa the 6th day
of June,1987,and approved this 6th day of June 1987.
A roll call vote was as follows:
Ayes:Tovrea,Hoifeldt,Stork
Nays:Gruber
Absent:Brown
Motion carried 3 to 1.

A special meeting of the Waukee City Council was held June 3,1987
and was called to order at 7:05 p.m.by Mayor pro-tern,Jerry Brown.
Brian J.Redshaw was present and taking minutes.
A roll call was taken and the following Councilmen were present:
Tovrea,Brown,Hoifeldt and Stork.Absent:Gruber.
Guests and staff at this meeting were:Gordon Doerr,Larry Crane,
Ray Clark,Remo Nizzi,Mark Broderick,Harry Copeland,Roger Buffing-
ton,Nick Gruber,11ark Casey and Dick Applegate.
The City Council resumed discussion on the proposed water line ease-
ment and annexation of property 'owned by Larry Crane and Clyde Corne-
lius.Roger Buffington listed the following costs for water service
line installation:
1.1"plastic service line---------$5.00 per linear foot
2.2"plastic service line---------$5.50 per linear foot
3.1"K copper service line--------$5.50 to $6.00 per linear foot
4.2"K copper service line--------$7.00 to $8.00 per linear foot
The Council discussed the installation of a 8"water line on the road
adjacent to these properties at a cost of $12.00 per linear foot.
Total cost of the 8"line would be $5220.00 which would provide for
future expansion capability.The service lines could be installed
for approximately $2000.00,The entire project would cost $7220.00.
Moved by Stork,second by Tovrea,to run 8"water down the county road
and extend 1"water services to Clyde Cornelius and Larry Crane (at
the city's cost)and run a gas main on the road with 'services at their
cost.Carried 4 to O~
Moved by Tovrea,second by Stork,to have Red Cross Swimming lessons
in Adel at $4.50 per child.'Carried 4 toO.
Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Tovrea,to authorize the Mayor pro-tern
and the City Clerk to execute an easement agreement with the Waukee
