HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-06-17-Special Minutes168 June 17,1987 A special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order at 7 :00 p.m.by Mayor Gordon Christianson. A roll call was taken and the following Councilmen were present: Tovrea,Brown,Hoifeldt,and Stork.Absent:Gruber. The following guests and staff were also present:Roger Buffington, Robert Underberg,Francis Weil,Ron Potter,Mr &Mrs Kenneth Hurt, Nick Gruber,Leigh Davis,Richard Tenant,M M Douglas,Ray Clark, and Ann Ford. Kenneth Hurt of 405 Northview spoke to the Council regard a privacy fence on his corner lot.The Council advised Mr.Hurt to go to the Board of Adjustment. A lengthy discussion was held on the proposed golf course.Roger ~, Buffington answered the developers questions on water and sewer and indicated the City would be able to provide water to the develop- ment.Ron Potter,Dallas County Assessor,fielded questions on taxation.The Council set June 23,1987 at 7:00 p.m.for a special meeting to further ,discuss this development. Moved by Tovrea,second by Brown,to approve bonds,contract and insurance certificate and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the contract for the East St.water main project.A roll call vote was as follows: Ayes:Tovrea,Brown,Hoifeldt,Stork Nays:None recorded Absent:Gruber Motion carried 4 to O. Moved by Stork,second by Tovrea,to adjourn at 8:13 p.m.Carried 4 to O. A roll call was taken and the following named Councilmen were present: Brown,Hoifeldt,Stork.Absent:Gruber an:d Tovrea. Guests and staff at this meeting were:Roger Buffington,Remo Nizzi, Brian Redshaw,Leigh Davis and Tom Gratias. The City Council discussed the proposed golf course on Highway 6. They discussed the possibility of tying the Midwest Hob i.Le Home Court with the proposed sewer line.The Council also discussed the possib- ility of tying the sewer line in with the intercepter sewer discussed in,the Facility Plan which was proposed for 4th Street. Roger Buffington reported a preliminary cost estimate for the proposed water line to the golf course;He indicated that the project would be $25,000 to $30,000 less if the project started north of the rail- road tracks rather than on Bel-Aire Drive.The total project cost estimate was$190,800.00. Moved by Brown,second by Hoifeldt,to adjourn at 7:45 p.m.Carried 3 toO.
