A roll call was held and all Councilmen were present except Stork. NoveQ by Hoife1dt,second by Brown,to approve the minutes of June 3,6,9,17 and 23.Carried 4 toO. Joe Stork arrived at 7:32 p.m. Guests and staff at this meeting were:Brian Redshaw,Wendy Hansen-- Wagner,Annette Edgington,Ann Ford,Paul Huscher,Virginia Clark, Nark.Roginske,Steve Pierce,Nick Gruber,Roger Buffington,Leigh Davis,Don Henson,Linda Nack,Phil Broderick and Dick Applegate. Wendy Hansen-Wagner,president of the Waukee Library Board,presented the FY 86-87 annual report and introduced Annette Edgington and Mark Roginske who the Board recommended be appointed to the Library Board. Noved by Gruber,second by Tovrea,to appoint Annette Edgington and Mark Roginske to the Waukee Library Board.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Stork,to approve the Treasurer's report.Carried 5 toO. The bids were opened as follows: Des Moines Asphalt-------------------------$22.o25.oo Grimes.Asphalt-------,.--~------------------$27,230.00 COlmnercial Asphalt-------------------------S28 150 00,,. The bids were turned over to the engineer to check. A contribution to Community Outreach was discussed but no decision was made at this time. Frank Hoifeldt presented a proposal for FY 87-88 wages from the Personnel Committee and a discussion was held.' Tom Tovrea left the meeting on a fire call at 9:09 p.m. The City maintenance crew will monitor the detention area. Roger Buffington report that the bids on the 1987 Street Project were tab1uated correctly with Des Hoines Asphalt bid as the lowest bid which he recommended.' Moved by Gruber,second by Stork,to approve plans and specs for the 1987 Street Project and award the contract to Des Hoines Asphalt. Any money that is left over from this project to go into the East Street reserve.Carried 4 to O. The Council reviewed Hary Ann Est at e s Plat 113 street lighting pro- posal.Brian Redshaw is to talk with Bob Ockerman of Iowa Power about more lighting.No action was taken. A brief discussion was held regardirg the sale of the rubber tire roller.The Council concluded they did not want to sell it. Frank Hoifeldt gave the Utilities report. Jerry Brown gave the Public Safety report and a report on the Development meeting in Ade1 that he had attended. There was no Hayor's report. The Council discussed the CIRALG assessment. Hoved by Gruber,second by Hoifeldt,to have Paul Huscher respond to the letter from ClRALG.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Gruber,second by Brown,to adjourn at 10:03 p.m.Carried 4 to O. Meeting adjourned. July 28,1987 A special meeting of the Waukee City C:ol..mci1was called to order on July 28,1987 at 7:00 p.m.by Hayor Gordon Christianson.Brian J. Redshaw was present and taking minutes. A roll call was taken and the following named Councilmen were present: Gruber,Tovrea,Brown,and Hoife1dt.Absent:Stork. Gues ts present were:,_,MaryJohnson and.Roger Buff:i\ngton. Mary Johnson addressed the Council regarding a gas leak on her side of the meter. Stork arrived at 7:03 p.m. Moved by Gruber,second by Tovrea,to approve a credit of $198.20 to Hary.Johnson.Carried 5 toO. Tom Gratias and Rick Ross of Tomrik,Inc.presented restrictive covenants,preliminary plat andp"Soposetl:agreement for Southfork. After discussion,the City Council decided to consult with the City Attorney concerning the language of the proposed agreement and meet the following week to discuss the redraft. Roger Buffington presented.the contract and bonds for the 1987 Street Project which had been executed by Des Moines Asphalt. Moved by Tovrea,second by Gruber,to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the contract with Des Moines Asphalt in the amount of $22,025.00 for 1987 Street Project.Carried 5 to O.
