October 23,1987
Hayor Gordon Christianson called the City Council to order on
October 23,1987 at 5:30 p.m.for a special meeting.
A roll call was taken and the following Councilmen were present:
Tovrea,Brown,Hoifeldt,and Stork.Absent:Gruber.
Councilman Gruber arrived at 5:32 p.m.
Jerry Brown,chairman of the Personnel Committee,recommended
hiring Jerry L.Miller from Adel for the maintenance position.
Ho ve d by Tovrea,second by Brown,to hire Jerry L l1iller at a
starting salary of $7.00 per hour.Carried 5 to O.
l10ved by Hoifeldt,second by Gruber,to approve a Class C
beer'permit and Sunday sales to Waukee Emporium.Carried 5 to O.
Hoved by Gruber,second by Tovrea,to adjourn at 5:39 p.m.Carried
5 toO.

A special meetingo£the Waukee City Council was called to order
at 7:05 p.m.on October 28,1987 by Hayor Gordon Christianson.
Brian Reds.haw was present and taking .minutes.The purpose of
this meeting was to discuss the options·for thecornpletion of
the water filter tank·xepair.
A roll call was taken and all Councilmen were present except Brown.
Dave Wombacher of Layne-Western presented option #1 in the amount
of $18,363.00 representing a long term solution and option #2 in
the amount of $4,863.00 representing the short term solution.
This amount would be in addition to the $4650.00 contracted for
cleaning and replacing the filter media.
Moved by Tovrea,second by Gruber,to approve option #2 in the
amount of $4863.00.Carried 4 to O.
l10ved by Tovrea,second by Gruber,to adjourn at 7:28 p.m.Carried
3 to l--Stork voting No.
