~ouncil regarding the purchase of 1 Scott air pack from donation

Roger Buffington recommended to the City Council that a standard
forl!lof subdivision bond and performance bond be adopted by the
City of Waukee and incorporated into the subdivision specifications.
The City Council directed Brian Redshaw to draft a Records
Retention Policy for presentation at a later meeting.

and City Clerk to enter into a contract,dated January 5,1988,
with A &L Underground,Inc.and approve bonds (performance and
payment;bonds).Carried L,to O.
Additional discussion about the Chicago-Northwestern license
agreement ended with the decision of the City Council to let
the motion stand from January 4.
The Walnut Ridge street lighting proposal for the intersection
of University Ave.and the entrance to Walnut Ridge was consider-
ed by the City Council.The Council decided to have Brian Redshaw
contact Iowa Power and have this street light incorporated into
a total proposal for the subdivision.
Moved by Gruber,second by Rosenkranz,to joint the Dallas County
:Development,Inc.for $50.00.Carried 4 to O.

The City Council discussed the Collateralization Agreement currently
in force between the City of Waukee and Brenton State Bank.Effect-
ive January 1,the bank will now pass on a $25.00 per month admin-
istrative fee to the City of Waukee for reserving securities in
United Missouri Bank as collateral for the City's deposits,

to Rhiner's Plumbering in the amount of $11,795.20.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Stork,second by Gruber,to approve pay e st Lmat.e i13 to
C.L.Carroll Co,Inc.in amount of $74,527.50.Carried 4 to O.
The consensus of the City Council was to leave the banking business
at Brenton State Bank.
Luke Gruber gave the Public Safety report.
Joe Stork gave the Utilities report,He discussed using surplus
fund for the High Pressure Gas Feeder Main Proj e c t ,Chet Chedester
spoke against the proposal and argued against using short term
money for capitol improvements,Mr Chedester also discussed
the refund "from Northern Natural Gas recently received.
Gordon Christianson gave the Mayor's report and used the opportunity
to compliment the citizens of Waukee for their Christmas displays.
He also questioned the wisdom of continuing the monthly newsletters
at an estimated annual cost of $1644.00.

A special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order
at 7:00 p.m.on January 28,1988 by Mayor Gordon Christianson.
A roll call was taken and the following Councilmen were present:
Brown,Hoifeldt,and Stork.Absent:Gruber and Rosenkranz.
Gruber arrived at 7:06 p.m.
Guests and staff present at this meeting were:Roger Buffington,
Paul Huscher,Ben Phillips,Rick Ross and Tom Gratias.Brian J.
Redshaw was present and taking minutes.Larry Phillips was also
present.
It was moved by Councilman Hoifeldt,and seconded by Councilman
Stork that the Ordinance entitled:"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER
303,WAUKEE,lIDNICIPAL OODE,SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
HAUKEE,IOHA,BY AMENDING SECTION 303.46B TO PROVIDE FOR SURETY
BONDS OR OTHER SECURITY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEViliNTS IN
SUBDIVISIONS"be now read,for the second time,by the City Clerk.
The Mayor put the question on the motion,and the roll being called,
the following named Councilmen voted:
Ayes:Stork,Hoifeldt,Brown,Gruber
Nays:Nonerecorded
Absent:Rosenkranz
Hhereupon,the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.
