called to order at 7:30 p.m.by Mayor Gordon Christianson.

Kirk Tyler,Ed Huntley,Jeff Abbas,Roger Buffington,Ned Brown
and Brian Redsha"l.
The Mayor announ~ed this "las the time and place set for hearing and
inspection of bids for the proposed Waukee,.IO"la-1988 Southfork
Addition Natural Gas Distribution Proj.ecL
Upon ihvestigation,it "las found tha~no persons had appeared and
filed objections to the proposed plans,specifications or contract
for or cost of such Waukee,Iowa 1988 Southfork Addition Natural
Gas Distribution Project.

Council Member Hoifeldt introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption,seconded by Council Member Gruber;and after
due consideration thereof by the Council,.theMayor put the ques-
tion upon the motion and the roll being called,the following
named members of the Council voted:

Whereupon,the Mayor declared the said motion duly carried and
the resolution adopted as follows:
RESOLUTION NO.78
Finally approving and confirming plans,specifications and form
of contract for the Waukee,Iowa-1988 Southfork Addition Natural
Gas Distribution Project
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore approved plans,spec-
ifications and form of contract for the proposed Waukee,Iowa-
1988 Southfork Addition Natural Gas Distribution Project (the
"Pxoj e c t "),as described in the resolution prov:iding for a notice
of hearing on proposed plans and specifications,proposed form
of contract and estimate of cost for the Project and the taking
of bids therefor;and
WHEREAS,hearing has been held on objections to the proposed
plans,specifications and form of contract and to the cost of
the Project arid all objections thereto have been overruled;
NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Waukee,iowa,as follows:
Section 1.The plans,specifications and form of contract
referred to in the preamble hereof by and the same are hereby
finally approved,and the prior action of the Council approving
them is hereby finally confirmed,and the Project,as provided
for in the plans,specifications and form of contract,is nec-
essary and desireable.
Section 2.All resolutions or parts of resolutions in con-
flict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent
of such conflict.
Passed and approved this 24th day of May,1988.
The Mayor announced that this was the time and place set for the
reception and consideration of bids for the Waukee,Iowa-1988
Southfork Addition Natural Gas Distribution Project.
It was moved by Council Member Gruber and seconded b~Council
Hember Hoifeldt that the Hayo r and the City Clerkproce,ed with
the opening of such proposals as had been filed,after first
ascertaining that the required bids security accompanied each
such proposal.The Mayor put the question on the motion and the
roll being called,the following named Council Members voted:

Thereupon,the Hayor declared the said motion duly carried and
the Mayor and the City Clerk proceeded accordingly.
Bids and proposals which had been submitted for the Waukee,Iowa-
1988 Southfork Addition Natural Gas Distribution Project were
then opened and considered,and it was found that the following
bids arid proposals had been received:

The Mayor asked for any questions or objections to the proposed
budget amendment and none were received.

Resolution:

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CURRENT BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
ENDING JUNE 30,1988 AS Al'IENDEDLAST ON OCTOBER 13,1988.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa:
Section L Following notice published Hay 19,1988 and the
public hearing held May 24,1988,the current budget (as prev-
iously amended)is amended as set out herein and in the detail
by fund and activity that supports this resolution which was
considered at that hearing:

at Southfork,Midwest Mobile Home Court and the Town Border
Station as follows:

materials for 3 gas regulator stations from MIDCO Supply Co in

station in Southfork 100 feet north of the street right-qf-way.

Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Gruber,to approve a recycler's
license for Interstate Automotive.Carried 4 to O.
Council Member Gruber introduced a resolution entitled:"Resol-
ution a,Jarding contract for the Waukee,Iowa-1988 Southfork
Addition Natural Gas Distribution Project",and moved that the
said resolution be adopted;seconded by Council Member "Rosenkranz;
and after due consideration thereof by the Council,the Mayor
put the question on the motion and the roll being called,the
following named members of the Council voted:

WHEREAS,pursuant to notice duly published in the manner
and form prescribed by resolution of this Council and as required
by law,bids and proposals were received by this Council for the
Waukee,Iowa-1988 Southfork Addition Natural Gas Distribution
Project (the "Project");and
WHEREAS,all of the said bids and proposals have been care-
fully considered,and it is necessary and adviseab1e that pro-
vision be made for the award of the contract for the Project;
NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Waukee,Iowa,as follows:
Section 1.The bid for the Project submitted by the
following contractor is fully responsive to the plans and spec-
ifications for the Project,heretofore approved by the Council,
and is in the best interests of the City,such bid being as
follows:

Section 2.The contract for the Project be and the same is
hereby awarded to such contractor at the total estimated cost set

ject to the terms of the aforementioned resolution,the notice
of hearing and letting the plans and specifications and the terms
of the bidder's written proposal.
Section 3.The Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and ordered to enter into a written contract with
said contractor for the Project,said contract not to be biriding
until approved by reso1~tion of the Council.
Section 4.The amount of the contractor's performance and!
or payment bonds is hereby fixed and determined to be 100%of
the amount of the contract.

to order at 7:08p.m.by Hayor pro-tern,Larry Oetting.
A roll call was taken and the following named City Councilmen
