Frank Hoifeldt gave the Parks Committee report.Bus trips to
the Dallas Center swimming pool was discussed.The City Council
decided to go ahead with the program on Hondays and Ivednesdays
from July 6 to August 24 at a cost of 50¢per person per day.
They approved the use of a '.hold harmless I agreement as presented.
Hayor Gordon Christianson's letter of resignation was read,citing
health reasons.
Hoved by Gruber,second by Rosenkranz,to set June 28 at 7:00 p.m.
to appoint a successor to the Mayor's seat.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Gruber,second by Brown,to adjourn at 10:20 p.m.

A special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order
at 7:15 p.m.by l1ayor pro-tem,Floyd Rosenkranz.Brian J.Redshaw
was present and taking minutes.
A roll call was taken and all Councilmen were present except Gruber.
Guests and staff at this meeting were:
Phillips,Tom Gratias,Dick Applegate,
Phillips.
Roger Buffington,Larry
Jim Thompson,and Ben
Brian Redshaw presented 2 bills from the Police Department for
inclusion in the FY 87-88 budget.
110ved by Hoifeldt,second by Brown,to approve payment of $425.00
to Larry W Oetting for police station air conditioner installation
and $362.80 to National Child Safety CounciL Carried 3 to 0--
Oetting abstaining.
The City Council discussed the Home Show proposal for Southfork
Plat #2 with Tom Gratias of Tomrik,Inc ..The following items
were approved by a consensus:
1.flat $125000 building permit fees for 14 homes
2.picnic tables
3.free water hookup but metered usage
4.police protection for traffic control
5.snow fence installation
6.fire department-street cleaning
7:signage--no permits
8.standard gas hookup fee

(The business district Walnut Street project was deleted and re-

Action on the appointment of a successor to Gordon Christianson
for the position of Mayor was delayed until the regular Council
meeting on July 12.
The City Council tock no action on the proposed Des Moines Water-
works agreement.Larry Oetting,chairman of the Utilities Comm-
ittee,reported action taken at the June 21 meeting.He indicated
that further action would be taken on the matter at the Committee's
next regular meeting on July 19 at 7:00 p.m.
The City Council requested that an item be placed in the July
newsletter requesting voluntary water conservation during this
dry period.
Rod Schmidt of the Waukee Jay-Cees presented the bills for the
construction of shelterhouse #3,located in.the middle of the
park.
Moved by Oetting,second by Brown,to pay bills for shelterhouse
1f3 in the amount of $3334.99.Carried 4 toO.'
Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Brown,to set july 12 at 7:30 p.m
for the receiving of bids on the 1980 Plymouth Gran Fury,
Carried 4 toO.
Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Rosenkranz,to approve the purchase
of gas regulators in the amount of $7130.85.Carried 4 to O.
(These regulators will be used at the 3 proposed district reg-
ulator stations located at the TBS,trailer court,and Southfork).
Moved by Hoifeldt,second by Brown,to approve the repair of the
butterfly valve for $600.00 from Northway Well &Pump Repair,
Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Brown,second by Oetting,to adjourn at 8:35 p.m,Carried
4 to O.

The regular meeting of the livaukeeCity Council was called to order
on Ju;ly 12,1988 at 7:30p.m.by Mayor Pro-tem,Floyd Rosenkranz.
A roll call was taken and the following Councilmen were present:
Gruber,Brown,Rosenkranz and Hoifeldt.Absent:Oetting.
The following guests and staff were present at this meeting:
Roger Buffington,Brian Redshaw,.Ben Phillips,Don Henson,Ann .~.-
Ford,Bobby Thompson,Tom Simmering,Hark Roginske,Brandt vJilliam-
son,Dick Applegate,Virginia Clark,Lloyd Royer,Chet Chedester,
Marvin Berger,Jeff Abbas,Phil Broderick,and Nick Gruber.
Hoved by Hoifeldt,second by Brown,to approve the minutes of
June 14 and 28.Carried 4 toO.
Lloyd Royer of the liJaukeeLions Club spoke to the Council regard-
ing potential grants for the proposed bottling plant.He dis-
cussed the rating system and grant system.Tax increment finan-
cing was also discussed.
Phil Broderick spoke to the Council regarding a letter dated
February 5,1988 from Roger Buffington concerning storm water
detention.They discussed the development of a stormwater man-
agement plan including appropriate detention requirements.
Virginia Clark of the Waukee Library Board presented their annual
report and also requested a budget amendment for extended hours
and programs.
