The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order at
8:10 A.M.by Mayor Floyd W.Rosenkranz.Brian J.Redshaw was present
and taking minutes.
Guest present at the meeting were:Paul E.Huscher,Paul R.Huscher and
Beth Dalbey.
A roll call was taken and the following Councilmen .were present:Clark
Gruber,Scott Absent:Barrett,Bailey
Moved by Clark,second by Gruber to go into closed session at 8:15 A.M.
pursuant to chapter 28A.5 lC:To discuss strategy with counsel in matters
that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent where
its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position
of the governmental body in that litigation.

The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order at
7:30 P.M.by Mayor Floyd W.Rosenkranz.Brian J.Redshaw was present
and taking minutes.
A roll call was taken and the following city councilmen were present:
Bailey,Scott,Barrett and Clark.Absent:Gruber.
The following guests and staff were also present:Jerry Burger,Harvey
Burger,Tom Davis,Joe Richards,Julie Richards,Jerusha Richards,Ben
Phillips,Tootie Stewart,Al Munsterman,Steve Pierce,Sherry Cone,
Melissa Moffitt,Jonathan Richards,Larry Phillips,Don Henson,Robert
Evans,Jeremy Richards.
Jerry Burger spoke to the City Council abouth the North driveway.
Originally there were 3 driveways.(North,200 ft south,homestead)

Moved by Scott,second by Clark,to move the driveway north at a cost
of $1200.00 to be paid by Snyder &Associates.

A zoning amendment hearing was held as published in the Dallas County
News.The Mayor asked for any questions or objections to the proposed
re-zoning of 90feet at the Midwest Mobile Home Court from C-1 to R-6.
One written comment was received by the City Clerk opposing the proposed
zoning ordinance change due to the timing of improvement on the property.
Tom Davis,manager of Midwest Mobile Home Court,indicated his su~port
for the proposed zoning ordinance change to allow him to relocate his
office and residence.
Councilman Clark introduced an Ordinance entitled:"AN ORDINANCE i
AMENDING THE ZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF WAUKEE ;~.
IOWA,FROM C-1 (COMMUNITY/COMMERCIAL DISTRICT)TO R-6 (MOBILE HOME
RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT)AND PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF THE OFFICIAL
ZONING MAP AND THE REPUBLICATION OF SAID MAP TO REFLECT SAID ZONING
CHANGES."
It was moved by Council Bailey,and seconded by Councilman Barrett,
that the Ordinance entitled:"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING OF
CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF WAUKEE,IOWA,FROM C-1
(COMMUNITY/COMMERCIAL DISTRICT)TO R-6 (MOBILE HOME RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT)
AND PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AND THE
REPUBLICATION OF SAID MAP TO REFLECT SAID ZONING CHANGES"be now read
by the City Clerk.The Mayor put the question on the motion,and the

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY
LIMITS OF WAUKEE,IOWA,FROM C-1 (COMMUNITY/COMMERCIAL DISTRICT)TO
R-6 (MOBILE HOME RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT)AND PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT
OF THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AND THE REPUBLICATION OF SAID MAP ·TO REFLECT
SAID ZONING CHANGES.
BE IT ORDAINED by th City Council of Waukee,Iowa:
Section 1.That the following described real estate be re-zoned from
C-1 (Community/Commerical District)to R-6 (Mobile Home Residential
District).
The South 90 feet of the North 542 feet of the Northeast quarter of
Northwest Quarter (NE 1/4 NW 1/4)of Section 34,Township 79 North,
26 West of the 5th P.M.,Dallas County,Iowa,except for the East
934 feet of the North 542.

Section 2.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect after
its final passage,approval,and publication as required by law.

Whereupon,the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.

providing for the ammendment of the official zoning map and the re-
publication of said map to reflect said zoning changes."be now put
upon its final passage and adoption.The Mayor put the question on the
final passage and adoption of said Ordinance,and the roll being

Whe~eupon,the Mayor declared said Ordinance dUly adopted and passed,
and signed his approval to said Ordinance.
The Personnel Committee recommended Robin Horkey for the position of
police officer at a salary of $17,000.
Moved by Scott,second by Barrett,to appoint Robin Horkey for police
officer at a salary of $17,000.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Clark,second by Barrett,to approve a change order for the
extension of the 12"waterline east a distance of 480 feet to Phil
Broderick and a 1"service line in exchange for the 6th Street right-of-
way as proposed and a 30 feet easement.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Scott,second by Clark,to approve the 28E Ag~eement with West
Des Moines for University Avenue.Carried 4 to O.
Ray Clark recommended a Town Meeting for Adult Education.The Mayor
polled the council members and it was agreed to go ahead and schedule
such a meeting.
The Southfork Cul-de-Sac project was discussed by the City Council.
Brian Redshaw received two bids:(1)Sternquist Construction -
$15,950.00,and (2)G &G Poured Foundations -$14,250.00.The Engineers
estimate on the project was $16,000.00.
Moved by Scott,second by Bailey to approve the bid of $14,250.00 from
G &G Poured Foundations for the Northbranch Cul-de-Sac project with the
developer to pay half of the cost.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Clark,second by Scott to go into closed session at_9:23 P.M.
