HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-12-04-Special MinutesNovember 200,1990 meeting continued 243 It was moved by Councilman Clark,and seconded by Councilman Bailey, that the rule that an ordinance must be received and filed at two meetings prior to the meeting when final action is taken or,if published in summary,be received and filed at one meeting prior to the meeting of final action,be dispensed with.The Mayor put the question on the motion,and the roll being passed,the following named Councilmen voted: Ayes:Scott,Clark,Barrett,Bailey Nays:None Recorded Absent:Gruber Whereupon,the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. It was moved by Councilman Barrett,and seconded by Councilman Clark,that the Ordinance entitled:"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 609,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,OTHER CRIMES,BY AMENDING SECTION 609.10,TO PERMIT THE DISCHARGE OF FIREARMES WITHIN THE CITY OF WAUKEE ON PROPERTY ZONED A-1, AND TO PROHIBIT THE DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS WITHIN 200 YARDS OF AN INHABITED BUILDING OR FEEDLOT,AND PROVIDING DEFINITIONS."be now put upon its final passage and adoption.The Mayor put the question on the final passage and adoption of said Ordinance,and the roll being called, the following named Councilmen voted: Ayes:Clark,Scott,Bailey,Barrett Nays:None Recorded Absent:Gruber Whereupon,the Mayor declared said Ordinance duly adopted and passed, and signed his approval to said Ordinance. Moved by Scott,second by Clark,to re-name East Street to Warrior Lane to the North City limits.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Scott,second by Clark,to adopt the following street names: 152nd Street to Boone Drive 162nd Street to Alice's Road 172nd Street to Warrior Lane 182nd Street to N.10th Street Carried 4 to O. Meeting Adjourned Mayor December 4,1990 The special meeting of the City Council was held December 4,1990 at 7:00 R.M.The meeting was called to order by Mayor Floyd W.Rosenkranz. The roll call was taken and the following councilmen were present:Bailey, Barrett,Clark and Scott.Absent:Gruber. Moved by Scott,second by Clark to formally delete sections 21 and 28 of Walnut Township from the involuntary annexation petition as on file with the City Development Board.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Barrett,second by Scott to send letters to Mayor E.J.Giovannetti, and Mayor O.Gene Maddox regarding a possible annexation moratorium agreement between Clive,Urbandale,and Waukee.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Clark,second by Bailey to authorize the City Attorney to take such action in court as may be deemed appropriate to further the interests of the City in regards to its annexation petitions.Carried 4 to O. 244 December 4,1990 meeting continued Moved by Scott,second by Barrett to adjourn at 7:20 P.M. Meeting Adjourned December 11,1990 The regular meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order on December 11,1990 at 7:30 P.M.Mayor Floyd W.Rosenkranz was presiding. Roll was taken and following Councilmen were present:Gruber,Bailey, Clark,Barrett,Scott.Marilyn Deets was present and taking minutes. Motion by Clark,second by Barrett to approve the minutes of 11/13, 11/20,and 12/04/90.Motion carried 5 to O. Mayor Floyd W.Rosenkranz presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Waukee Police Department.Letters from the Iowa State Highway Patrol and Urbandale Police Department in appreciation for assistance by the Waukee Police Department were read. Dale Weber with Xenia Rural Water System presented plans for extending their water line 2 miles North of Hickman with construction to begin in 1992. John Snyder with Voorhees Design discussed the proposed design and site study of a Fire Station.Study to take approximately two months. Moved by Gruber,second by Barrett to approve the drawing of a Fire Station floor plan,site plan,and construction costs by Voorhees Design Group for the amount of $4500.00.Motion carried 5 to O. Motion by Bailey,second by Gruber to approve the Treasurers'Report. Motion carried 5 to O. Discussion was held on the Summer Recreation books.Council said purchases to be handled through City Hall. Moved by Barrett,second by Clark to approve the bill presentation in the amount of $99353.00.Motion carried 5 to O. Council Member Clark introduced the resolution entitled "Resolution providing for the issuance of warrants in connection with the construction of the 1990 Industrial Park Utility Improvements,Contract 1 -Water Main Project",and moved that said resolution be adopted;seconded by Council Member Barrett.After due consideration thereof by the Council, the Mayor put the question on the motion and the roll being called,the following named council Members voted: Ayes: Nays: Gruber,Barrett,Clark,Scott,Bailey None Recorded.
