Board Of Adjustment Notice Requirement.Current ordinances have conflicting time requirements and Paul was instructed to correct the problem. Motion by Councilman Clark and seconded by Councilman Bailey to authorize Paul to seek an injunction to bring the structure at 480 Waukee into zoning compiiance or to seek removal of occupants.The Mayor put the question on the motion and the roll being called, the following named Councilmen voted:Ayes:Bailey,Clark and Duroy.Nayes:none recorded Absent:Gruber and Scott.Motion carried 3 to O. Floyliosenkranz MAYOR ATTEST: The December 29,1992 Waukee City Council special meeting was called to order at 7:03 P.M. by Mayor Pro Tem Don Bailey,Jr.,with Bob Barrett present and taking minutes. Roll call was taken and the following Councilmen were present:Don Bailey,Jr.,Ray Clark, Frank Duray,Nick Gruber and Curtis Scott. Staff and guests were:Brian Redshaw,Steve Pierce,Bob Sayre,Jeff Downing and Keith Cook. Agenda Additions.EID Corporation Developnent. Bob Sayre -Interstate Auto Sign.Bob stated that his plans for the future development of his property is to develope it into a "poor man's auto mall"and to that end would like to construct an eye catching sign on his property consisting of a subcompact auto painted a bright color elevated about 16 feet and having a directory of the businesses located there.Bob was instructed to prepare drawings or take pictures of existing signs and present ideas to Planning and Zoning. EID CoIpJration Developrent.Steve Pierce informed the Council that he had contracted Dorsey &Whitney concerning the sewer hookup of Jeff Downing's property could be done if Jeff would sign an agreement making his property assessable for the future extension of the Hickman Road Trunk Sewer.Jeff stated that he is favorable to signing such an agreement and willing to work with the City to hookup to the sewer line in a financially sound manner.Steve also reported that he is drafting a letter to Des Moines Waterworks requesting permission to provide water service to Jeff's property since it is presently outside the City limits and our agreement with Des Moines Waterworks requires such approval. Health Insurance Proposals.Councilman Gruber moved and Councilman Duray seconded to adopt Blue Crass/Blue Shield Plan 8 health insurance for City employees and to reapply with Principal Insurance after 6 months.The Mayor Pro-tem put the question upon the motion and the roll being called,the following named Councilmen voted:Ayes:Bailey, Clark,Duray,Gruber and Scott.Nayes:none recorded.Motion carried 5 to O. -198- Gas Locator Purchase.The Gas Department staff requested the purchase of an additional line tracer to locate gas lines and for installation of gas lines.Motion by Councilman Scott and seconded by Councilman Clark to purchase a Metrotech 850 Audio Frequency Line Tracer for $2,630.00.The Mayor Pro-tern put the question upon the motion and the roll being called,the following named Councilmen voted:Ayes:Bailey,Clark,Duroy,Gruber and Scott.Nayes:none recorded.Motion ca=ied 5 to O. Enployee Handbook Adoption.The proposed new employee handbook was reviewed and changes suggested.The handbook will be present in final form at the January 18 meeting. Roll was taken and the following Councilmen were present:Don Bailey,Jr.,Ray Clark, Frank Duroy,Nick Gruber and Curtis Scott.
