Maintenance of Alleys.Discussion concerning upkeep of alleys or to deed back to adjoining property owners. Adjournrrent.Motion by Councilman Gruber and seconded by Councilman Duroy to adjourn. Rural Water service -Bob Jacobson.Bob Jacobson spoke to the Council about water service south of the present City limits.Motion by Councilman Clark and seconded by Councilman Duory to appoint a corrrnittee to contact the residents south of Waukee to the Interstate to determine their commitment to having water service provided by the City with the understanding that water service could only be extended if the area voluntarily annexed to the City.The results of this survey is to be reported back to the Council no later than the August 2nd Council meeting.Motion carried 4 to O. Mary Arm Estates Drainage.Measures to correct the ponding problem is Mary Ann Estates will be completed and included in the streets project financing. Bid Acceptance On Fire Truck.Motion by Councilman Duray and seconded by Councilman Bailey to approve the purchase of a Freightliner chassis and fire truck to be built by Toynes Iowa Fire Truck Service subject to Walnut Township concurrence.The Mayor put the question upon the motion and the roll being called,the following named Councilmen voted:Ayes:Biley,Clark,Duroy and Scott.Nayes:None recorded.Absent:Gruber. Bid Acceptance And Approval Of Contract And Bonds Fbr Industrial Park.Motion by Councilman Scott and seconded by Councilman Clark to approve Resolution No.·2621' accepting the 1993 Hickman West Industrial Park Improvement project bid and approving the contract and bonds with Eco-Tech Contractors.The Mayor put the question upon the motion and the roll being called,the following named Councilmen voted:Ayes:Bailey, Clark,Duray and Scott.Nayes:none recorded.Absent:Gruber.Motion carried 4 to O. Motion by Councilman Clark and seconded by Duroy to approve Resolution No.263 approving the 1993 Hickman West Industrial Park Improvements Amendment to Agreement For General Services,Resident Review And Final Review with Veenstra &Kimm,Inc at a cost not to exceed $46,500.The Mayor put the question upon the motion and the roll being called, the following named Councilmen voted:Ayes:Bailey,Clark,Duroy and Scott.Nayes:none recorded.Absent:Gruber.Motion carried 4 to O. Boy Scout Purchase Proposal.Motion by Councilman Duroy and seconded by Councilman Clark to allow Boy Scout Troop 178 to purchase $179.00 worth of equijmerrt from the Federal Surplus Center in the name of the City of Waukee.Motion carried 4 to O. Budget Billing.Motion by Councilman Duroy and seconded by Councilman Bailey to approve a monthly budget billing payment amount of $139.00 beginning July 20th for Anna Marie Pullum.Motion carried 4 to O. Parks Corrmittee Proposals.Motion by Councilman Clark and seconded by Councilman Duroy to approve Rev.Roger Schlaefer as voluntary caretaker of the three acre park east of 1070 1st Place to allow him to mow and plant trees.Motion carried 4 to O. A corrrnittee should be formed to work toward a sports complex.This committee should have representatives from the City,the soccer club,the girls softball,and the Little League groups involved. The Jaycees want to have mud volleyball during the July 4th celebration if there is no objection from the Council.There was none. -6 -...
