THE JUNE 6,1994 WAUKEE CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:~~P.M.AT
CITY HALL BY MAYOR CHET CHEDESTER WITH BOB BARRETT TAKING MINUTES.
ROLL WAS TAKEN AND THE FOLLOWING COUNCIL MEMBERS WERE PRESENT:DON BAILEY,JR.,FRANK
DUROY AND TERRY STRAIN.COUNCILWOMAN MONICA LIHS WAS ABSENT.
STAFF AND GUESTS IN ATTENDANCE:BRIAN REDSHAW,PAUL E.HUSCHER,JOHN WESSELMANN,JIM

WAYNE ERDMAN ASKED ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE WATER RATE CHANGE FOR USERS OUTSIDE THE
CITY LIMITS AND WAS TOLD THE UTILITIES COMMITTEE WAS MEETING ON JUNE 11TH AND THE
COUNCIL WOULD CONSIDER THEIR RECOMMENDATION ON JUNE 2~TH.WAYNE ALSO REPORTED THAT HE
COULD PURCHASE WATER FROM THE WATER SALESMAN FOR ABOUT $3.34 PER THOUSAND.STAFF WILL
CHECK INTO THE SETTING TO MAKE THE WATER COST THE SAME AS IN-TOWN RESIDENTS.
HELEN LOCKWOOD THE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE COUNCIL FOR THE
PAVING OF THE LIBRARY NORTH PARKING LOT.
TERRY STRAIN TERRY ASKED THAT THE TRACK TEAM AND COACHES BE INVITED TO THE NEXT
COUNCIL MEETING AND TO HAVE A RESOLUTION PREPARED TO HONOR THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

COUNCIL TO CONSIDER GIVING THE CITY OWNED RIGHT-OF-WAY NORTH OF LAUREL STREET (5TH
STREET EXTENDED)TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS AND THE PROPERTY OWNERS WOULD THEN GIVE
THE CITY AN EASEMENT FOR THE UTILITIES THAT RUN THROUGH THE PROPERTY AND WOULD ALSO PAY
ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED IN THE PROPERTY TITLE TRANSFER.THE REASONING BEHIND THE REQUEST
IS THAT WITH THE BUILDING OF COUNTRY SQUARE MINI-MALL,5TH STREET WILL NOT BE EXTENDED
TO HIGHWAY 6;THE CITY WOULD NOT HAVE TO MAINTAIN THE PROPERTY;AND THE PROPERTY WOULD

JIM DEWITT -FR PURCHASES.JIM ASKED FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL TO PURCHASE 3-SEASON
JACKETS FOR THE FIRST RESPONDERS AT A COST OF $120.95 EACH WITH A ONE TIME SET UP CHARGE
OF $20.00.THE REQUEST IS FOR 12 JACKETS AT $120.95 EACH AND 3 JACKETS AT $141.45 -A
TOTAL COST OF $1,895.75.FOLLOWING DISCUSSION,MOVED BY COUNCILMAN GRUBER,SECONDED BY
