HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-06-07-Special MinutesThe June 7,1995 Special City Council meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Mayor
Chedester with the following Council members present:Don Bailey,Jr.,Monica Lihs and
Terry Strain.Absent:Nick Gruber and Frank Duroy.
Gopher Hollow -Final Plat.The Council discussed this development and how a hydrant
will be put in the line to allow our tandums to be filled,and that a letter will be
filed with the plat showing that the owners are responsible for the maintenance of Sugar
Creek Lane.
Motion by Councilman Bailey,seconded by Councilman Strain,to pass Resolution #337
approving the final plat of Gopher Hollow Plat 2.Upon roll the following Council
members voted:Ayes:Strain,Bailey,Lihs.Nays:None.The motion passed 3 to 0.
Leonard's Subdivision -Construction Plans.The Council discussed the issue of
drainage easements to the North and South.The Council indicated that there should be
drainage easements on the property to be maintained by the Landowner Association to go
with the Plat.
The City Council also addressed 8 inch water mains,and the request to only use 6 inch
mains.The Des Moines Metropolitian Standards call for 8 inch mains.
Motion by Councilman Strain,seconded by Councilman Bailey,to approve the plans,with a
six (6)inch main allowed,subject to V &K's approval,and the drainage easement being
filed with the plat.Upon roll call the vote carried 2 to 1.Ayes:Bailey,Strain.
Nays:Lihs.Councilman Lihs's concern was that V &K's recommendation was not being
accepted.
Motion to adjourn at 6:30pm by Councilman Bailey,seconded by Councilman Strain.Motion
carried 3 to 0 on a voice vote.
