Bailey,Jr.with Toni Lestina taking minutes.
Roll Call.A roll call vote was taken and the following Council Members were present:Nick
Gruber,Robyn Heath,Monica Lihs,Dan Lugar,and Terry Strain.
Open Forum.None.
Agenda Additions -Agenda Approval.Motion by Councilman Gruber,seconded by
Councilwoman Lihs,to approve the agenda.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried
5 to O.
Construction Plans -Broderick Animal Clinic.Motion by Councilman Gruber,seconded by
Councilman Strain,to approve the construction plans for Broderick Animal Clinic with a petition
and waiver for sidewalks on both sides of 4th Street.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:
Gruber,Strain,Lihs,Heath,and Lugar.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 to O.

RESOLUTION 96-18
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE FINAL PLAT OF
LEONARD'S SUBDIVISION PLAT 2 AND THE REPLATS OF LEONARD'S
SUBDIVISION LOTS 5 AND 7 -A SUBDIVISION IN DALLAS COUNTY
AND WITIllN TWO MILES OF WAUKEE'S CITY LIMITS
WHEREAS,Richard Leonard has submitted the Final Plat of Leonard's Subdivision Plat
2 and the replats of Leonard's Subdivision Lots 5 and 7,and the Waukee Planning and
Zoning Commission approved these at their meeting in June 1996;and
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has sufficient maintenance bonds on file for the public
improvements;
WHEREAS,the Final Plat has already been filed with Dallas County;
NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved that because the plat has already been filed,the City
of Waukee waives it s right to review formally review and approve this final plat,and that
Resolution No.96-17 that was formally approved is hereby repealed.
Letter of Support -N.Dallas County Landfill.Motion by Councilman Strain,seconded by
Councilman Lugar,to direct Paul Huscher,City Attorney,to write a letter of support and state

Farmer's Market.The Betterment Committee would like to have a Farmer's Market at the
triangle starting August 7,1996 from 4:00 to 8:00 through the 1st week in October.
Motion by Councilman Strain,seconded by Councilman Lugar,to pass Resolution No.96-19.
The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Strain,Lugar,Gruber,Lihs,and Heath.Nays:None.
Motion carried 5 to O.
RESOLUTION NO.96-19
A RESOLUTION SETTING A FEE FOR THE USE OF PUBLIC PARKING SPACES IN
DOWNTOWN WAUKEE FOR THE ADMINlSTRATION AND COSTS ASSOCIATED
WITH THE FARMER'S MARKET.
WHEREAS,there is a need and desire for a Farmer's market in the City of Waukee;
WHEREAS,the area around the triangle in downtown Waukee has been designated as a
good location for the Farmer's Market;
WHEREAS,there are costs associated with running such a market,for things such as
advertising,space reservation,supplies,staffing,etc.J
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the spaces around the triangle be reserved
for the Farmer's Market on the days designated by the City Council and that a fee of
$10.00 per day per vendor be charged.
Hiring of City Treasurer.Tabled.
Annexation -Closed Session.Paul Huscher had nothing to report.
Adjournment.Motion by Councilman Lugar,seconded by Councilman Gruber,to adjourn the
meeting at 7:39pm.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried 5 to O.
