Donald L.Bailey,Jr.
Roll Call.A roll call vote was taken and the following Council Members were present:Nick
Gruber,Robyn Heath,Monica Lihs and Dan Lugar.Absent:Terry Strain.
Agenda Additions -Agenda Approval.Motion by Councilwoman Lihs,seconded by
Councilman Gruber,to approve the agenda.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried.
R~solution ~pproving the FY1997-98.Wau~ee City Budget.Mayor Bailey announced that f?r--;Jj~
this was the time and place for the Pubhc Heanng for the FY1997-98 Budget.The Mayor ~11'(}I
inquired if there was any written correspondences for or against the budget.City Administrator,
Kurt Rueckel responded that he had not received any written correspondences for or against the
budget.
Mayor Bailey asked for any verbal comments for or against the proposed budget.None was
noted.
Motion by Councilwoman Lihs,seconded by Councihnan Lugar,to approve the FY1997-98
Waukee City Budget.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Lihs,Lugar,Heath,and
Gruber.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 to O.
Mayor Bailey commended Kurt Rueckel,Marvin Berger (Citizen Budget Committee Member),
and the Council Members for their careful scrutiny in the budget preparation.
City Administrator,Kurt Rueckel thanked the City Staff in their budget preparation also.
Consideration of Loan to First Responders For Purchase of Equipment.Motion by Xe J (!~
Councilman Lihs,seconded by Councilwoman Heath,to adopt Resolution 97-07 Loaning Funds Jl11-()7
to the Waukee First Responders for the Purchase of Equipment.The Mayor asked for a roll call
vote:Aye:Lihs,Heath,Gruber,Lugar.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 to O.
Mayor Bailey stated that the City will do all it can to recover the missing funds from the Waukee
First Responders.He also encouraged the citizens of Waukee to continue to support the Waukee
First Responders and Fire Department.
Other Business.None.
Adjournment.Motion by Councilwoman Lihs,seconded by Councilman Gruber,to adjourn the
