Open Forum.None. Agenda Additions -Agenda Approval.Motion by Councilman Gruber,seconded by Councilman Berger,to approve agenda as revised.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried. Public Hearing -Receive and File Bids for the Construction of Wastewater Treatment Facility.Motion by Councihnan Peard,seconded by Councilwoman Heath,to approve a resolution to confirm plans,specifications,form of contract,and estimate of cost for the wastewater treatment facility improvements project.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes: Gruber,Lyon,Peard,Heath,and Berger.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 to O. Representative from Veenstra &Kimm gave a brief history of how cost were arrived at and what was next for the wastewater treatment facility project. Motion by Councilwoman Heath,seconded by Councilman Peard,to move for adjournment of the public hearing on wastewater treatment facility until April 6,at 7:00 p.m.,at which time and place the Council will meet to further consider such proposals.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote: Ayes:Gruber,Lyon,Peard,Heath,and Berger.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 to O. 5 /) TCI Adjustment for Service Rates and Equipment and Installation Charges.Motion by I Councilman Gruber,seconded by Councilman Peard,to have a TCI Representative appear at the ) April 6,1998 meeting to explain reasoning behind rate and service changes;poor service;lack of channels;etc.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Gruber,Lyon,Peard,Heath,and Berger.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 to O. Permission to Seek Bids for Park Storage Shelter and Restrooms.Motion by Peard, seconded by Lyon,to allow staff to proceed with obtaining bids on park storage shelter and restrooms.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Gruber,Lyon,Peard,Heath,and Berger. Nays:None.Motion carried 5 to O. Mayor's Report. The Mayor met and talked with staff member from City of West Des Moines before 3/16/98 Waukee City Council meeting.Discussion about cooperation on several issues concerning both cities went very well.Mayor reported that the City of West Des Moines and it's staff had been doing an excellent job and he looked forward to continued good relations between our two cities. The Mayor informed the Council that State Rep.Ed Fallon has been invited to visit the City of Waukee on 3/28/98,to talk about issues concerning land use and urban sprawl. The Mayor recommended nominations be made in Waukee for All Star Community Award. April 4,1998 the Mayor will be at the State Capital with the Governor and other mayors to support fair housing.Mayor Bailey brought House bill 205 and Senate bill 209 to the attention of the Council and recommended they withhold their support.The Mayor also recommended that the Council meet on 3/23/98 to discuss the proposed Public Safety Building. ) ) Motion by Councilwoman Heath,seconded by Councilman Peard,to have Public Hearing on Public Safety Building -Council meeting 3/23/98.
