Roll Call.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote and the following Council Members were present:
Nick Gruber,Marvin Berger,Robyn Heath,Bill Peard and Larry Lyon.Absent:None.
Scope of Proposed Public Safety Building.Jerry Purdy of Design Alliance,Inc.addressed
Council and discussed scope of project.
Motion to renovate the current fire station for use as a senior citizen center if the public safety
bond referendum passes.The center being paid for with proceeds from other sources (i.e.
volunteers,community fund raiser,etc.).Motion by Councilman Peard,seconded by Councilman
Heath,to.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Gruber,Lyon,Berger,Peard and Heath.
Nays:None.Motion carried 5 to O.
Resolution No.98-11 Calling an Election on the Proposition ofIssuing General Obligation
Bonds -The Question on the Ballot Being.The Council took up and considered the matter of
calling a special election on issuing general obligation bonds.Councilwoman Heath,introduced
and moved the adoption of the resolution next hereinafter set out,seconded by Councilman
Peard.After due consideration of the resolution by the Council,the Mayor put the question upon
the motion and the roll being called the following named Council Members voted:Ayes:Gruber,
Lyon,Berger,Peard and Heath.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 to O.Whereupon,the Mayor
declared the motion dilly carried and the resolution adopted in substantially the following form:)

A special municipal election is hereby called and ordered to be held in and for the City of Waukee,
on Tuesday,the 5th day of May,1998,at which there will be submitted to the voters of the City
the following proposition to wit:Shall the City of Waukee,in Dallas County,Iowa,issue its
bonds in an amount not exceeding the amount $3,200,000 Jar the purpose of paying the cost,to
that extent,oj acquiring real estate and constructing and equipping a public saJety building?
Motion to not exceed a levy of$13.50 by Councilman Gruber,seconded by Councilman Lyon.
The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Gruber,Lyon,Berger,Peard and Heath.Nays:None.
Motion carried 5 to O.
Adjournment.Motion by Councilwoman Heath,seconded by Councilman Lyon,to adjourn at
8:36p.m.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried.
