HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-05-04-Regular MinutesThe May 4,1998 Waukee City Council meeting was called to order at 7:02pm by Mayor Donald L.Bailey,Jr. Roll Call.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote and the following Council Members were present: Nick Gruber,Marvin Berger,Robyn Heath,Bill Peard and Larry Lyon.Absent:None. Open Forum.Dick Corbett,170 Northview Dr.discussed his concerns about the slope at entry to his driveway.Mayor and Council asked staff to have driveway fixed. Agenda Additions -Agenda Approval.Motion by Councilman Gruber,seconded by Councilman Peard,to approve agenda as amended.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried. Mayor's Report.Received FAX from American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure to be held Saturday,May 16,1998,the band will be playing from 12:30 to 3 :OOpm;TMC will be delivering a flatbed to use as a stage for the band;Mayor thanked Council for attending Citizen of the Year Banquet for Helen Lockwood;attended ribbon cutting for Easonville at Eason Elementary, Councilman Bill Peard also attended this event that promoted reading;Mayor spoke with to government class at high school also talked to seniors about safety issues;meeting with Chuck 3 Seels May 6;Home Owners Association to discuss design standards;142nd Street dead line was I, met will be on next Council agenda;Mayor asked that everyone remember to vote;Governor Branstad's office sent letter stating that he is not able to commit to be Grand Marshall for the 4th ) of July parade yet.
