L.Bailey,Jr.
Roll Call.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote and the following Council Members were present:
Nick Gruber,Marvin Berger,Robyn Heath,Bill Peard and Larry Lyon.Absent:None.
Open Forum.Dick Corbett,170 Northview Dr.discussed his concerns about the slope at entry
to his driveway.Mayor and Council asked staff to have driveway fixed.
Agenda Additions -Agenda Approval.Motion by Councilman Gruber,seconded by
Councilman Peard,to approve agenda as amended.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion
carried.

Date For Public Hearing -Rezoning of "Davovich";D)Set A Date For Public Hearing -
Amendment of FYE 98 Motion by Councilman Gruber,seconded by Councilwoman Heath,to

Permission to Seek Bids-5-Way Stop.Motion by Councilman Lyon,seconded by Councilman

Acceptance of Preliminary Plat-Booth Property.Tabled tell May 18,1998 City Council
Meeting.
Acceptance of Preliminary Plat-Indigo Ridge.Discussion and Motion after Parks Report.
Ordinance No.2247 to replace Section 502 (Parking Ordinance)of the City Code -3'·"
Reading.Motion by Councilman Gruber,seconded by Councilman Berger,to have the Clerk
read the ordinance for the 3'''time in title only.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:

Motion by Councilman Peard,seconded by Councilman Lyon,to place Ordinance No.2247 on

Amendment to Waste Water Facility Improvements.No Action taken.
Contract for Engineering Inspection Services -Waste Water Facility Improvements.
Motion by Councilman Gruber,seconded by Councilman Peard,to approve Amendment to
Agreement for Engineering Services lowering fees for services by $2,600 or not to exceed
$87,400.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Gruber,Peard,Lyon,Berger,and Heath.
Nays:None.Motion carried 5 to o.
Board of Adjustment.Mary White provided a review of the last BOA meeting.
Mayor's Report.Received FAX from American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure to be held
Saturday,May 16,1998,the band will be playing from 12:30 to 3 :OOpm;TMC will be delivering a
flatbed to use as a stage for the band;Mayor thanked Council for attending Citizen of the Year
Banquet for Helen Lockwood;attended ribbon cutting for Easonville at Eason Elementary,
Councilman Bill Peard also attended this event that promoted reading;Mayor spoke with to
government class at high school also talked to seniors about safety issues;meeting with Chuck

Seels May 6;Home Owners Association to discuss design standards;142nd Street dead line was I,
met will be on next Council agenda;Mayor asked that everyone remember to vote;Governor
Branstad's office sent letter stating that he is not able to commit to be Grand Marshall for the 4th )
of July parade yet.
Motion by Councilwoman Heath,seconded by Councilman Lyon,to approve the Mayor's report.
The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried.
Administrator's Report.Motion by CouncilmanPeard,seconded by Councilman Berger,to
approve the Administrator's report.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried.
Planning and Zoning Report.Motion by Councilman Lyon,seconded by Councilman Gruber,
to approve the Planning and Zoning Report.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried.
Parks Committee Report.Motion by Councilman Lyon,seconded by Councilman Heath,to
approve the Parks Report.The Mayor asked for a voice vote.Motion carried.
