Resolution No.99-04 Appointing Members and Confirming terms for Board of Adjustment,Board of
Appeals Park Board,and Planning and Zoning Commission.Motion by Councilman Gruber,second by
Councilman Peard,to approve RESOLUTION NO.99-04 APPROVING MEMBERS AND TERMS FOR
BOARD OF ADmSTMENT,BOARD OF APPEALS,PARK BOARD,AND PLANNING AND ZONING

Need for Housing Authority.Motion by Councilman Lyon,second by Councilman Gruber,to table
resolntions:DECLARING THE NEED FOR A HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
IOWA;APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CERTAIN JOINT EXERCISE OF
POWERS AGREEMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING A REGIONAL HOUSING
AUTHORITY;APPOINTING A REPRESENTATIVE AND ALTERNATE TO THE CENTRAL IOWA

Mayor's Report.Juvenile Diabetes Walk Team being formed by Mayor Bailey;Mayor attended meeting
where Pat Callahan gave a presentation on shared government services;Met with MTA officials at West Des
Moines City Hall,January 13,1999;Mayor attended Des Moines Area Chamber of Commerce Dinner;
Waukee Chamber of Commerce Dinner January 21,1999;Mayor to meet with mOT officials concerning
Highway 6;Budget Committee to meet on January 23,1999 at 8:00 a.m.at City Hall;Mayor mentioned
recent events concerning AP Photographer David Guttcnfeldt;Harlem Globe Trotters to play at Waukee
High School.
Administrator's Report.Bob Hays,City Administrator,reported on Troy Winters being trained to fill
water department vacancy and need to replace him with a new streets employee;West Des Moines
aunexation;meeting with Dr.Stalker and progress made on budget.
Utility Board Report.Councilman Lyon gave brief statement of events.
Library Board Report.Councilman Berger mentioned the Library's continued increase in circulation.
Attorney's Report.City Attorney Paul Huscher gave a summation of City's legal matters.
