)Roll Call.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote and the following Council Members were present:Nick
Gruber,Malvin Berger,Robyn S.Heatb,Bill Peard,and Larry Lyon.
Russ Wiesley introduced visitors from Russia.The Mayor presented them with a certificate and Dr.
Kerkboffpresented them with Waukee Centennial plates and Waukee T-shirts.They will be visiting
Waukee and staying with Russ for 10 days.
City Council Work Session.
Chuck Stalker-Methodist church -spoke to the Mayor and Council regarding the Methodist Church using
the old Fire Station after the new Public Safety Building opens and the Fire Department moves.
Mike Watts thought it sounded good to build a new building for public works,but thought there was a
company wauting to use the water tower for cellular antennas,The Council informed Mike that the Parks
Board voted down the use the water tower.The City Council felt that they did not want to keep the water
tower merely for use as a platform for a cellular antenna.
After discussion the Mayor and City Council narrowed the scope of projects requiring immediate action or
consideration to the following:

Councilman Lyons suggested buying a overhead projector for Developers to use and hanging a large City
map on the wall in the Council Chambers.
Adjournment.Motion by Councilwoman Heath,seconded by Councilman Peard to adjourn the Special
Work Session meeting at 9:05pm.The Mayor asked for a voice vote Motion carried 5 to O.
