on Monday,March 13,2000 at 7:00P.M.by Mayor Donald L.Bailey,Jr.
AGENDA ITEM #2:ROLL CALL:Roll was taken and the following Council members were present:
Johnson,Peard,Watts,Berger,and Gruber,Also present from the Comprehensive Plan Committee:
Robert Ellis,Bill Mueller,Michelle Adams,Mel Willits,LeMar Koethe,Michael Hinton,Steve Schmiedt,
Joe Schmidt,Rene Herr,Jay Oxenford,Linda Foltz,Jerry Crow,Larry Lyon,Karen McClusky,Judy
Fisher,Russ Wiesley,Rou Marr,Lloyd Royer,Eric Korpanty,Jerry Steele,and Jeff McCoige.

AGENDA ITEM #3:PRESENTATION BY RDG CROSE GARDNER SHUKERT RE:CITY OF
WAUKEE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE:Marty Shukert presented on overhead,the outline
explaining the process the Comprehensive Plan Committee will go through to create a new and updated
comprehensive plan to be used for future development.The outline "The WaukeePlan:Kick-Off Meeting
for the Waukee Plan Coordinating Committee"is attached.Mr.Shukert asked that the group do an
introduction giving their name and a brief explanation of the reasons they are interested in the
comprehensive plan process.
AGENDA ITEM #4:SET SCHEDULE FOR MEETINGS OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
STEERING COMMITTEE:Dates were set for the next two (2)meetings,Monday April 24,2000 and
Monday May 22,2000 at Waukee City Hall,7:00P.M.Matty Shukert passed out sign up lists for the
working groups classified as:
(1)Community Growth;(2)Transportation and Community Services;(3)Quality of Life;
(4)Community Character and Design,and;(5)Economic Development.The groups will be assigned at the
next meeting.The completion schedule is projected as follows:(1)Strategic Plan -March 13,2000 thru
June 1,2000;(2)Concept -June 1,2000 thru August 1,2000;(3)Elements -August 1,2000 thru
December 1,2000;(4)Implemeutation -December 1,2000 thru February 1,2001;(5)Review and
Approval -February 1,2001 thru April 1,2001.
AGENDA ITEM #5:ADJOURNMENT:Motion by Co cihnan Gruber,second by Councilman Peard to
adjourn the meeting at 8:26P.M.Meeting adjourned.
