Roll Call-In the absence of Mayor Bailey and Mayor Pro Tern Johnson,Councilman Gruber moved that Councilman Peard serve as Acting Mayor Pro Tern for this meeting, seconded by Councilman Watts.Motion approved.Roll Call was taken.Council members Bill Peard,Mike Watts,Nicholas Gruber and Marvin Berger were present. Mayor Donald L.Bailey,Jr.,and Councilman and Mayor Pro Tern Wayne Johnson were absent. Resolution Approving Notice to Bidders and Specifications for Purchase of a 2000 Gallon tanker Firetruck.Motion by Gruber,seconded by Watts to approve the Resolution.Acting Mayor Pro Tern Peard called for a roll call vote.Ayes;Gruber, Watts,Berger,Peard.Nays;None.Motion carried, The City of Waukee,Iowa IN THE NAME AND BY AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR A NEW FIRE TRUCK RESOLUTION 01-51 WHEREAS,The City of Waukee,Iowa is an incorporated City within Dallas County,Iowa;and WHEREAS,The City Council has approved the purchase of a new fire truck; and NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the City of Waukee,Iowa does hereby approve by resolution the specifications for a new fire buck. Motion carried. RESOLUTION 01·52 SETTING APRIL 20,2001;1:00PM AS THE DATE FOR FINAL SUBMISSION OF BIDS FOR A TANKER FIRE TRUCK WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has determined that it will be purchasing a new tanker fire truck,AND, WHEREAS,the City will be following a bid process for acquisition of the truck,AND, WHEREAS,time is of the essence in completing the process for purchasing the new truck, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Waukee City Council in session this 4th day of April,2001 that it hereby establishes April 20 at 1:00PM as the date and time for final submission of bids for the new truck. Resolution Changing the Name of Walnut Street East of Alice's Road to Westbrook Drive -City Administrator Mark Arentsen stated that there are several new businesses moving in on this street.Since the City is considering changing this street name as a part of a larger street name change project,it would be best to change this name at this time so that the new businesses can start out with the correct address.Motion by Gruber, seconded by Berger to approve the Resolution.Chairman Peard called for a roll call vote.Ayes;Gruber,Berger,Watts,Peard.Nays;None.Motion carried. RESOLUTION 01-54 CHANGING THE NAME OF WALNUT STREET EAST OF ALICE'S ROAD TO WESTBROOK DRIVE WHEREAS,the City of Waukee is considering revisions to several street names in an effort to improve emergency response to properties,AND, WHEREAS,changing some of the existing street names would also improve the public's ability to locate streets more easily,AND, WHEREAS,several new businesses are considering leasing property on the Walnut Street east of Alice's Road and are concerned that a street name change in the future would make their business documents obsolete, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Waukee City Council in session this 4 th day of April,2001 that it hereby changes the street name for Walnut Street east of Alice's Road to Westbrook Drive. 4 William F.Peard,Acting Mayor Pro-Tern 1 Attest: Mark J.Arents ,City Administrator/Clerk ROLL CALL VOTE Nicholas C.Gruber Marvin Berger Bill Peard Mike Watts Wayne Johnson AYE NAY ABSENT X X X X X Adjournment -A motion was made by Gruber seconded by Watts to adjourn.Motion carried unanimously.Acting Mayor Pro Tern Peard declared the meeting adjourned at 5:07PM. ] Attest: Mark J.Arentse,ity Administrator/Clerk 1 5
