July 11,2001
(1)Call to Order -The July 11,2001 special meeting of the Waukee City Council was
called to order by Mayor Bailey at 5:30 PM.The Mayor asked for a roll call.
(2)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor Donald L.Bailey,Jr,and
Council members,Marvin Berger,Mike Watts,and Wayne Johnson.Councilman Bill
Peard and Nick Gruber absent.
(3)Agenda Additions /Approval-No changes.Marvin Berger moved to approve the
agenda as written.Mike Watts second.Voice Vote:Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion
carried 3-0.
(4)Consent Agenda-
A.Approve Outdoor Service Area -Charles Wells for C.W.'s Tap
House Inc.Dates:07-14-01 to 07-15-01
Mike Watts moved to approve,Wayne Johnson second.Roll Call:Ayes:Berger,Watts,
Johnson Nays:None.Motion carried 3-0.
Nick Gruber arrived at 5:34pm.
(5)Motion:To change date of public hearing for the Hickman Road Street Lighting
Project.The central point of the discussion was the number of extra meetings Council
members have been asked to attend.Although the project finish time,the number of
public hearings already set for August 6 and the anticipated number of participants for
this public hearing were issues raised,the Council sentiment was to wait until the August
6th Council Meeting rather than schedule another meeting at this time.Mike Watts
moved to change the date ofthe public hearing for the Hickman Road Street Lighting
Project to August 6,2001.Wayne Johnson second.Roll call:Ayes:Watts,Johnson,
Berger.Nays:Gruber,Motion carried 3 -1.
At this time the Mayor asked for motion to adjourn.Mike Watts moved.Wayne Johnson
second,Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4-0.
