$20,425.54 GRAND TOTAL $100,997.25 (7)Mayor's Report:Mayor Leslie gave recognition to city staff for their efforts in securing $500,000 MFO Grant for FYZ005 which will be used in the first phase of widening University Avenue,14Znd St.to Waco or 98th St.The city has received over 5 $800,000 in total from this grant and the RISE grant received in December 2001 for transportation needs in the city. (8)Mayor's Appointment:To recognize the significant number of individuals who volunteer in the City of Waukee each year,the Mayor is introducing a Volunteer of the Year Award.This award would be given to an individual who has contributed significantly as a volunteer for the city,schools,civic organizations,churches or community.All civic organizations,churches and schools can nominate an individual to participate in the selection process for the recipient of this award.In addition to this award,the Citizen of the Year Award will continue to be awarded.Characteristics ofthe person receiving this award are those who have represented the city in a positive manner and who have been an ambassador for the City of Waukee.The committee members for this award are Dianna Van Zee,Linda Pound and Dennis Langel. (15)Resolution:Approving the Site Plan for Stoneridge Business Park Don Bailey moved to approve the Stoneridge Business Park Site Plan.Nick Gruber second.Bill Murphy of Shive-Hattery,Greg Judas of KC.Holdings and Marty Barkley of Simonsen &Associates addressed the issues discussed during the council review of the site plan. Mr.Judas indicated that they had discussed a change in the design of the front of the building,which would include lowering the stone underneath the sign bands to about 14 feet to give more of an emphasis to the sign band,which is about 4 foot high,and I 1 I 6 increasing the stone on either side ofthe sign band upward above the sign band and above the walk-in doors to give an overall appearance of columns.The signs are illuminated by can lights in the soffit and are about an inch off the building on a mesh type piece.Don Bailey amended his motion to include the changes in the design of the front of the building suggested by Mr.Judas.Nick Gruber second the amended motion.
