SPECIAL BUDGET MEETING
JANUARY 13,2003
(1)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order
by Mayor Pro Tern Peard at 7 :00 PM.
(2)Pledge of Allegiance
(3)Roll Call -The following members were present:Mayor Pro Tern Bill Peard,and
Council members Nicholas Gruber,Donald Bailey,Jr.,Mike Watts and Wayne Johnson.
(4)Agenda Additions /Approval-Mike Watts moved to approve the agenda with an
amendment which would move items 6 and 7 before item 5.Wayne Johnson seconded
the amended motion.Roll call:Ayes:Watts,Johnson Gruber,Bailey,Peard
(6)Motion:Setting March 25'h as the date of the Special Election for the Office of
Mayor of the City of Waukee Mike Watts moved to approve the motion.Nick Gruber
second.Roll call:Ayes:Watts,Gruber,Bailey,Peard,Johnson,Nays:None.Motion
carried 5 -O.
(7)Resolution:Approving awarding Contract #3 to purchase previously approved
furnishings in Bid Package #1 for the Waukee Public Library Mike Watts moved to
approve the resolution.Don Bailey,Jr.second.Roll call:Ayes:Watts,Bailey,Gruber,
Peard,Johnson.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.
(5)Receive/File:Departmental Budget Presentations:Budget presentations were
presented for Public Works /Utilities,Parks /YMCA,Police Department,Fire
Department,Library,Administration,Community Development /Code Enforcement,
Planning and Finance.Department Heads explained their proposed budgets and
answered council member's questions.
At this time Mayor Pro Tern Peard asked for a motion to adjourn.Nick Gruber moved.
Mike Watts second,Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 5-0.
Meeting Adjourned at 8:53 PM.
