WAUKEE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
(1)Call to Order -A special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by
Mayor Tony Oberman at 7:00 PM.
(2)Pledge of Allegiance
(3)Roll CaIl-The following members were present:Mayor Tony Oberman,and
Council members Nicholas Gruber,Donald Bailey,Jr.,Mike Watts and Darlene Stanton.
Mayor Pro Tern Bill Peard absent.
(4)Agenda Additions I Approval-No changes.Don Bailey,Jr.moved;Mike Watts
second to approve the agenda as written.Ayes:Bailey,Watts,Gruber,Stanton Nays:
None.Absent:Peard.Motion carried 4 -0 -1.
(5)Resolntion:Approving Site Plan for Warrior Storage Mike Watts moved to
approve the resolution.Darlene Stanton second.Larry Shaffer from Shaffer
Construction was present to discuss this project.Drawings included elevations,a site
plan,an illumination plan,landscaping plan.Once again Mr.Shaffer indicated he would
be willing to use the recommended panel rather than the panel that comes with the
construction package he was purchasing.Mr.Shaffer discussed the lighting,which will
be a white light,be limited in number and will remain on at all times.The surveillance
equipment for this property requires that lights be lit for the cameras to work correctly.
The metal exterior doors to each 10'unit will be a shade of blue,the metal panels will be
white,the concrete blocks -"Hercubond"will be gray except for a row painted blue at
the top.The trash enclosure will be blended in with the building and will be built of the
same material as the building.The fencing surrounding the property will be wrought iron
to the East and North and will be black vinyl coated six foot chain link on the West and
South.Landscaping will be provided on the west and the east.Although Mr.Shaffer and
the Council agreed to a 2'X 2'white sign with the name of the storage facility and
telephone numbers to be placed on the gate leading into the storage area,it will be
necessary to submit a sign permit request to Code Compliance for review.Roll call:

Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4-0.
