(1)Call to Order -The special meeting ofthe Waukee City Council was called to order
by Mayor Pro Tern Nick Gruber at 6:35 PM.
(2)Roll Call -The following members were present:Council members Nicholas Gruber,
Don Bailey,Jeff Mertz,and Bill Peard present.Mayor Oberman and Council member
Darlene Stanton absent.
(3)Discussiou:Discussion of material to be distributed in Washington,D.C.during
meeting with legislators and legislators'designees General discussion covered schedule
of activities,the logistics of the trip,prepared material for distribution while in
Washington.Discussion of new material prepared and presented by Community
Development Director Jody Gunderson occurred.Improvements or changes were
suggested to the material.In addition what we are requesting and how we plan to address
those requests of OUT legislators and senators were discussed.Discussion of the property
development from University Avenue to 1-80 Interchange and funding of the Alice's
Road /University Avenue intersection took place.A time-line of what we've done and
what we're planning to do with respect to the road extension and the interchange and
information of how the City plans to provide matching funds for these proj ects will be
provided.
