SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 26,2005
(1)Call to Order -The workshop meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to
order by Mayor Oberman at 6:53 PM.
(2)Roll Call-The following members were present:Tony Oberman,Mayor,and
Council members Nicholas Gruber,rerrv.Mertz,Bill Peard and Darlene Stanton.
Donald L.Bailey,JI.absent.
(3)Agenda Approval-No changes.Jeff Mertz moved;Darlene Stanton second to
approve the agenda as written.Roll call:Ayes:Mertz,Stanton,Gruber,Peard.Nays:
None.Absent:Bailey.Motion carried 4 -0 -I.
(4)Resolution:Approving Agreement with F.C.Des Moines L.C.dba Des Moines
Menace with respect to lise of space in Centennial Park for its activities Nick Gruber
moved to approve the resolution.J eff Mertz second.The agreement presented to
Council had been modified after Council packets were sent out.Public Works Director
John Gibson gave the changes to the Council.Insurance requirements would be known
on Weduesday after the Council meeting.City Administrator Mark Arentsen suggested
changes in the "whereas"clauses of the agreement.Alan Oatsvall,General Manager of
the Des Moines Menace,answered the questions and concerns of the Council.City
Attorney Paul Huscher explained the reason for not including a notarial signature.Roll
call:Ayes:Gruber,Mertz,Stanton,Peard.Nays:None.Absent:Bailey.Motion carried
4-0-1.
(5)Resolution:Approving Class B Beer Permit for L.F.Des Moines,L.C.dba Des
Moines Menace Bill Peard moved to approve.Jeff Mertz second.No discussion.Roll
call:Ayes:Peard,Mertz,Grnber,Stanton.Nays:None.Absent:Bailey.Motion carried
4-0-1.
At this time Mayor Oberman asked for a motion to adjourn.Gruber moved.Stanton
second.Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4-0.
Meeting Adjourned at 7:15PM.
