(Bill)Peard,City Administrator/Clerk Mark Arentsen and community representatives
Nancy Shirk,Director of Waukee Chamber of Commerce,John Aunan,President of
Waukee Chamber of Commerce,Isaiah McGee,Waukee Chamber of Commerce and
Michelle Durand Adams,Regions Bank and Waukee Community Development
Committee participated in the Greater Des Moines Partnership 26'h Annual D.C.Trip to
Washington D.C.The Waukee delegation met individually with Congressman Tom
Latham,Senator Tom Harkin and Senator Charles Grassley late Wednesday afternoon.
On Thursday morning,all members of the Greater DM Partnership were in attendance at
the Iowa Congressional Delegation Breakfast.The Waukee delegation also met with
Congressmen Steve ICing,Jim Leach,Jim Nussle and Leonard Boswell on Thursday.All
members of the Greater DM Partnership Washington,D.C.Trip were present when Dr.
Modadugn V.Gupta of India was announced as the 2005 World Food Prize Laureate.E.
Anthony Wayne,Interim Under Secretary of State and Andrew Nartsios,Administrator
USAID spoke at the Laureate Announcement Ceremony.
The Washington,D.C.Trip started Wednesday morning,June 8,2005 and ended Friday
afternoon,June 10,2005.
