SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 21,2005
(1)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order
by Mayor Pro Tern Jeff Mertz at 7:00 PM.
(2)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor Pro Tern J effMertz,and
Council members Bill Peard,Nick Gruber,Darlene Stanton and Donald L.Bailey,Jr.
Mayor Tony Oberman absent.
(3)Agenda Approval-No changes.Darlene Stanton moved;Jeff Mertz second to
approve the agenda as written.Ayes:Stanton,Mertz,Bailey,Gruber,Peard.Nays:None.
Motion carried 5 -O.
(4)Resolution:Consideration of ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances,City of
Waukee,Iowa by adding Chapter 406 regarding Illicit Discharge to Storm Sewer
System (second reading)Don Bailey,Jr.moved to have the second reading in title only,
waive the third reading and place this ordinance on its final passage.Darlene Stanton
second.Don Bailey,Jr.shared information about the additional requirements imposed
through the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).Notices
regarding this issue will be mailed to home owners in this month's utility billing.Roll
call:Ayes:Bailey,Stanton,Gruber,Peard,Mertz.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -o.
Mark J.Arentsen read the ordinance in title only.Mayor Pro Tern Mertz declared the
ordinance passed and duly adopted.
Mayor Pro Tern Mertz asked for a motion to adjourn.Nick Gruber moved.Darlene
Stanton second.Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 5-0.
Meeting Adjourned at 7:07 PM.
