SPECIAL MEETING
OCTOBER 24,2005 I
(1)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order
by Mayor Oberman at 5 :45 PM.
(2)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor Oberman and Council
Members Gruber,Mertz,Peard and Stanton.Absent:Bailey.
(3)Agenda Approval-No changes.Motion by Mertz,seconded by Peard,to approve
the agenda as written.Ayes:Mertz,Peard,Stanton,Gruber.Nays:None.Absent:
Bailey.Motion carried 4 -0 -l.
(4)Resolution:Consideration of the Final Plat for Windfield II Plat 5.Motion by
Gruber,seconded by Mertz,to approve the resolution.John Gibson suggested the motion
be amended to approve the Final Plat for Windfie1d IT Plat 5 contingent upon receipt of
Treasurer and Recorder certificates,revised easements,and punch list items I,4 and 5
completed before filing the fmal plat with Dallas County.Gruber amended the motion as
such;Mertz amended the second.Roll call:Ayes:Peard,Gruber,Stanton,Mertz.Nays:
None.Absent:Bailey.Motion carried 4 -0 -l.
(5)Motiou:Consideration of the setting of November 7,2005 as the date of a Public
Hearing on an ordinance to repeal existing Chapter 604 (and its subsections)of the
Waukee Municipal Code and enact in lieu thereof Chapter 604 (Subsections 604.1-
604.6)titled "Residency Restrictions for Sex Offenders"regulating the residency of
convicted sex offenders within the corporate limits of the City of Waukee,Iowa and
providing penalties for violations.Motion by Peard,seconded by Gruber,to set the
public hearing date.Roll call:Ayes:Gruber,Mertz,Peard,Stanton.Nays:None.
Absent:Bailey.Motion carried 4 -0 -I.
Mayor asked for a motion to adjourn.Motion by Peard,seconded by Stanton.Ayes:
Gruber,Mertz,Peard,Stanton.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 -O.
Meeting Adjourned at 5:50 PM.
