SPECIAL MEETING
MARCH 8,2006
A)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro
Tern Stanton at 7:05 p.m.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor Pro Tern Stanton and Council Members
Bailey,McGee,Mertz.Absent:Mayor Peard and Council Member Watts.
C)Agenda Approval.Mayor Pro Tern Stanton stated that the first finn to be interviewed would be
Slavin Management Consultants,followed by Gerald Plock Associates,Inc.Motion by Council Member
McGee,seconded by Council Member Bailey,to approve the special meeting agenda.Roll Call.Ayes:
McGee,Bailey,Stanton,Mertz.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 -O.
D)Interviews of potential firms to conduct tile search for candidates for City Administrator/Clerk.
1)Slavin Management Consultants -Mr.Bob Slavin of Slavin Management Consultants presented
his company's credentials to the City Council and explained the process by which his company
would conduct the search for qualified potential City Administrator/Clerk candidates.After his
presentation,council members and City staff asked questions ofMr.Slavin.When the interview
concluded,City Council thanked Mr.Slavin for his time.
2)Gerald Plock Associates,Inc.-John Gibson explained that Mr.Plock had a family emergency
that prevented him from appearing before the Council this evening,but requested an interview J
over the phone instead.City Council decided not to interview Mr.Plock via telephone.
Adjournment.Mayor Pro Tern Stanton asked for a motion to adjourn,Motion by Council Member
McGee,seconded by Council Member Mertz,to adjourn.Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 -O.
