SPECIAL MEETING
MARCH 9,2006
A)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Peard
at 7:00 p.m.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor Peard and Council Members Bailey,Mertz,
Stanton.Absent:McGee,Watts.
C)Agenda Approval.Motion by Council Member Stanton,seconded by Council Member Mertz,to
approve the special meeting agenda.Roll Call.Ayes:Stanton,Mertz,Bailey.Nays:None.Motion
carried 3 -O.
D)RESOLUTION:Consideration of acceptance of the Union Pacific Railroad agreement for the
University Ave./Alice's Rd.project-Motion by Council Member Bailey,seconded by Council Member
Mertz,to approve the resolution.Roll Call:Ayes:Bailey,Mertz,Stanton.Nays:None.Motion carried 3
-0.
E)Interviews of potential firms to condnct the search for candidates for City Administrator/Clerk.
I)Springsted -Mr.Robert Thistle,Ms.Sharon Klumpp and Mr.Tony Roetlin of Springsted
appeared before the City Council to present their company's credentials and explain the process by
which their company would conduct the search for qualified potential City Administrator/Clerk
candidates.After the presentation,council members and City staff asked questions of the
Springsted representatives.When the interview concluded,City COlIDCilthanked Mr.Thistle,Ms.
Klumpp and Mr.Roetlin for their time.
2)PAR Group -Mr.Bob Beezat of PAR Group presented his company's credentials to the City
Council and explained his company's search process.After the presentation,council members
and City staff asked questions.When the interview concluded,City Council thanked Mr.Beezat
for his time.
Adjournment.Mayor Peard asked for a motion to adjoum.Motion by Council Member Bailey,
seconded by Council Member Stanton,to adjourn.Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 -O.
