(B)Pledge of Allegiance (C)Roll Call-The following members were present:Council Members Donald L.Bailey,Jr.;Casey L.Harvey;C.Isaiah McGee;Darlene Stanton;Mike Watts.Absent:Mayor William F.Pcard. Also present:City Administrator/Clerk Jeff Kooistra,Director of Community Development Jody T.Gunderson,Director of Finance Linda Burkhart,Director of Public Works John Gibson, Assistant Director of Public Works Tim Royer,Director of Planning Brad Deets,Deputy City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett,City Engineer Mikelis Briedis,City Attorney Steve Brick. (D)Open Forum (E)Agenda Approval-Council Member Bailey moved to approve the agenda,removing consideration of items JIL,JIM and JlN from the Consent Agenda,and removing consideration of items 12,J3 and J4 from the agenda;seconded by Council Member Harvey.Roll call:Ayes: Bailey,Harvey,McGee,Watts,Stanton.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O. (F)Mayor's Report (G)Presentations: 1)Quarterly reports from Waukee Police Department,Waukee Fire Department,Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce,Waukee Public Library -Reports made by Fire Chief Clint Robinson,Police Sgt.Troy Mapes,Chamber of Commerce President Chris McLinden,and Library Director Linda Mack. 2)Waukee Public Library on the Manders Project-Rebecca Johnson of the Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees and Harold Manders'relatives Leonard Griffith and Bob Manders discussed the history of the proposed project,which would include the donation of Harold Manders'memorabilia to the Library.Mr.Griffith reviewed certain items within the collectiou and stated that the Manders family would fund the design and construction of an addition to the Library to house the collection with the provision that the display remain fixed for 20 years,after which the artifacts could be disposed of as desired by the Library.Ms. Johnson explained that attorneys fur the City,Library and Manders family were working on legal concerns and documentation for the proposed project.Council Member Stanton recommended that Mr.Manders'stories be recorded on audio or video;Bob Manders replied that the family intended to do so.Council Members Watts and Bailey spoke in favor of the project,noting the need for quick completion of the project.Council Member McGee asked how the proposed addition would affect planned additions to the Library;Library Director Mack replied that the Manders addition would not impact future Library additions.Council Member McGee then asked if artifacts could be added to the Manders collection at a later date;Ms.Mack replied that such matters would need to be discussed with the attorneys involved.Council Member Harvey asked who would curate the collection;Ms.Johnson answered that it was another matter for discussion with the attorneys. 3)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution of support for the Waukee Public Library's pursuance of the Manders Project contingent upon acceptable arrangements- Council Member Bailey moved to approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Stanton.Roll
