SPECIAL MEETING
MAY 12,2008
A)Call to Order -Mayor Pcard called the special meeting of the Waukee City Council to order at 5 :06
p.m.in the Waukee City Council Chambers.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Casey
L.Harvey,C.Isaiah McGee,Darlene Stanton,Mike Watts.Absent:Council Member Donald L.Bailey,
J1".
Also present:City Administrator/Clerk Jeff Kooistra,Director of Finance Linda Burkhart,Director of
Public Works John Gibson,Director of Planning Brad Deets,Deputy City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett,City
Attorney Steve Brick.
C)Agenda Approval-Council Member McGee moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Harvey.Roll call:Ayes:McGee,Harvey,Stanton,Watts.Nays:None.Absent:Bailey.Motion
carried 4 -0 -1.
D)CLOSED SESSION:Pursuant to Code of Iowa §21.5(1)(i)to evaluate the professional competency
of an individual whose appointment,hiring,performance or discharge is being considered when
necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual and that individual requests a
closed session
Council Member Stanton moved to close the regular session and enter closed session pursuant to Code of
Iowa §21.5(1)(j);seconded by Council Member Watts.Roll call:Ayes:Stanton,Watts,Harvey,McGee.
Nays:None.Absent:Bailey.Motion carried 4 -0 -1.Council entered closed session at 5:08 p.m.
CLOSED SESSION
Council entered regular session at 5 :25 p.m.
E)Comments
Adjournment -Council Member McGee moved to adjourn;seconded by Council Member Harvey.
Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 -O.
