WORK SESSION MEETING
DECEMBER 4,2008
A)Call to Order -The work session meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Peard at 5:15 p.m.at the Pizza Ranch Restaurant meeting room,448 SE University Ave.,Waukee.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Donald
L.Bailey,JI.;Casey L.Harvey;C.Isaiah McGee;Darlene Stanton;Mike Watts.Absent:None.
Also present:Brian Mook,Kellie Paschke,Jeff Ostrander,Ema Morain,Paul Hassebroek,and Deb
Calvert of the Waukee Area Economic Development Corporation;City Administrator/Clerk Jeff Kooistra;
Director of Public Works John Gibson;Director of Development Services Brad Deets;Assistant to the
City Administrator McKinlee Gibson.
C)Agenda Approval -Council Member McGee moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Stanton.Roll call:Ayes:McGee,Stanton,Bailey,Harvey,Watts.Nays:None.Motion carried
5 -0.
D)Work Session:
I)Incentives for economic development projects -Linda Schaut,Director of the Greater Dallas
County Development Alliance,gave a PowerPoint presentation on economic development in the
area and led discussion on possible incentive packages for economic development.The group
present agreed to work on long-and short-term economic development strategies.
E)Comments
Adjournment -Council Member McGee moved to adjoum;seconded by Council Member Stanton.
Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.
