SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 22,2009
A)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Peard at 5:30 p.m.in the Waukee City Council Chambers.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members
Donald L.Bailey,Jr.;Casey L.Harvey;C.Isaiah McGee;Darlene Stanton;Mike Watts.Absent:
None.
Also present:City Administrator/Clerk Jeffrey L.Kooistra,City Attomey Steve Brick.
C)Agenda Approval v-Council Member Stanton moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member McGee.Roll call:Ayes:Stanton,McGee,Bailey,Harvey,Watts.Nays:None.Motion
carried 5 -O.
D)Ordinance:Consideration of approval of an ordinance to amend Chapter 300,Zoning Ordinance,
City of Waukee,Iowa by amending Sections 301.11 [R-l Single Family Residential District]and
301.12 [R-2 One-and Two-Family Residential District]to amend provisions related to bulk
regulations [second,third (final)reading]-Council Member Watts moved to approve the second
reading of the ordinance in title only,waive the third reading,and place the ordinance on final
passage;seconded by Council Member McGee.Roll call:Ayes:Watts,McGee,Bailey,Harvey,
Stanton.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.Mayor Peard declared the ordinance duly adopted.

E)CLOSED SESSION:Pursuant to Code of Iowa §21.5(1)(i)to evaluate the professional
competency of an individual whose appointment,hiring,performance or discharge is being
considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual and that
individual requests a closed session -Council Member Stanton moved to close the regular session
and enter closed session pursuant to Iowa Code §2l.5(1 lei);seconded by Council Member Bailey.
Roll call:Ayes:Stanton,Bailey,Harvey,McGee,Watts.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.
Council entered closed session at 5:34 p.m.
CLOSED SESSION
Council entered regular session at 6:32 p.m.

Adjournment -Council Member Watts moved to adjourn;seconded by Council Member Stanton.Ayes:
All.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.
