SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 18,2009
A)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro
Tern Harvey at 4:11 p.m.in the Waukee City Council Chambers.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:COl1l1Ci!Members Donald L.Bailey,Jr.;Casey L.
Harvey;C.Isaiah McGee;Darlene Stanton;Mike Watts.Absent:Mayor William F.Peard.Also
present:City Administrator/Clerk Jeffrey L.Kooistra,Assistant to the City Administrator McKinlee
Gibson,Director of Public Works John Gibson,Director of Development Services Brad Deets,
Deputy City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett,City Attomey Steve Brick.(Mayor Peard arrived at 4:16
p.m.)
C)Agenda Approval-Council Member McGee moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Bailey.Roll call:Ayes:McGee,Bailey,Harvey,Watts,Stanton.Nays:None.Motion
carried 5 -O.
D)CLOSED SESSION:Pursuant to Code of Iowa §21.5(1)(c)to discuss strategy with Counsel ill
matters where litigation is eminent where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or
disadvantage the position oj the governmental body in that litigation -Council Member Stanton
moved to close the regular session and enter closed session pursuant to Iowa Code §21.5(1)(c);
seconded by Council Member Bailey.Roll call:Ayes:Stanton,Bailey,Harvey,Watts,McGee.
Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.Council entered closed session at 4:13 p.m.
CLOSED SESSION
Council entered regular session at 5:18 p.m.
F)Resolution:Consideration oj approval oj a resolution concerning annexation -Council Member
Bailey moved to approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Harvey.Roll call:Ayes:
Bailey,Harvey,Watts,McGee,Stanton.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.(Resolution #09-183)

Adjournment -Council Member McGee moved to adjoum;seconded by Council Member Stanton.
