SPECIAL MEETING
February 1,2010
A)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was cailed to order by Mayor
Peard at 5:05 p.m.in the Waukee City Council Chambers.
B)Roll Call-The foilowing members were present:Mayor Wiiliam F.Peard;Council Members Shane
Blanchard,Dan Dutcher.Casey L.Harvey.Darlene Stanton.Mike Watts.Absent:None
Also present:City Administrator/Clerk Jeffrey L.Kooistra,Assistant to the City Administrator
McKinlee Gibson.Director of Finance Linda Burkhart.Director of Development Services Brad Deets.
Director of Public Works John Gibson.Assistant Director of Public Works Tim Royer,Parks and
Recreation Director Matt Jermier,Police Chief Larry J.Phillips,Fire Chief Clint Robinson,Deputy
City Cierk Rebecca D.Schuett.
C)Agenda Approval-Council Member Stanton moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Harvey.Roil call:Ayes:Stanton,Harvey.Watts,Blanchard.Dutcher.Nays:None.Motion
carried 5 -O.
D)Resolution:Consideration of approval of setting March 2,2010 as the date of public hearing
on the annexation of consenting properties by the City of Waukee,Iowa,with consideration
of the annexation taking place immediately thereafter-Council Member Stanton moved to
approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Dutcher.Roll cail:Ayes:Stanton,Dutcher.
Harvey.Blanchard,Watts.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.(Resolution #10-25)
E)Work Session:FY2011 City Budget -The Council and department heads reviewed and discussed
the proposed budget for FY2011.(Council Member Stanton left at 8:00 p.m.)
F)Comments
Adjournment -Council Member Watts moved to adjourn;seconded by Council Member Blanchard.
Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 -O.
