SPECIAL MEETING
September 29,2010
A)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Pro Tem Stanton at 4:32 p.m.in Waukee City Hall.
B)Roll Call -The following members were present:Council Members Dan Dutcher,Casey L.
Harvey,Darlene Stanton.Absent:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Shane Blanchard,
Mike Watts.
Also present:City Administrator/Clerk Jeffrey L.Kooistra,Director of Public Works John Gibson,
Director of Development Services Brad Deets,City Engineer Forrest Aldrich,Deputy City Clerk
Rebecca D.Schuett.
C)Agenda Approval -Council Member Harvey moved to approve the agenda;seconded by
Council Member Dutcher.Results of vote:Ayes:Dutcher,Harvey,Stanton.Nays:None.
Absent:Blanchard,Watts.Motion carried 3 -0 -2.
D)Motion:Consideration of approval of receipt and file of quotes received for the Bike Trail
Sewer Project -Council Member Dutcher moved to receive and file the quotes;seconded by
Council Member Harvey.Results of vote:Ayes:Dutcher,Harvey,Stanton.Nays:None.Absent:
Blanchard,Watts.Motion carried 3 -0 -2.
E)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution awarding quote for the Bike Trail
Sewer Project -Council Member Dutcher moved to approve the resolution;seconded by
Council Member Harvey.Director of Public Works Gibson briefly reviewed the project.Results
of vote:Ayes:Dutcher,Harvey,Stanton.Nays:None.Absent:Blanchard,Watts.Motion carried
3 -0 -2.The quote was awarded to R.D.McKinney Plumbing &Excavating,Inc.,of Waukee,
IA.(Resolution #10-259)
F)Comments -Council Member Stanton commended City staff for finding a solution to parade
route access issues and for informing affected property owners.
Adjournment -Council Member Harvey moved to adjourn;seconded by Council Member Dutcher.
Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 3 -O.
