JOINT WORK SESSION MEETING
March 22,2011
A)Call to Order -The joint meeting of the Waukee City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission
was called to order by Mayor Peard at 6:07 p.m.in the Waukee City Council Chambers.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Shane
Blanchard,Dan Dutcher,Casey L.Harvey,Darlene Stanton.Absent:Mike Watts.
Also present:City Administrator/Clerk Jeffrey L.Kooistra,Director of Development Services Brad
Deets,City Planner Ben Landhauser,City Engineer John Kursitis.
C)Roll Call -The following Commissioners were present:Chairman Joe Schmidt;Brian Mook,
Wayne Johnson,Luke Streit,Frank Hoifeldt,Tim McCulloh.Absent:Mike Nigro.
D)Agenda Approval by City Council -Council Member Dutcher moved to approve the agenda;
seconded by Council Member Stanton.Roll call:Ayes:Dutcher,Stanton,Blanchard,Harvey.Nays:
None.Absent:Watts.Motion carried 4 -0 -1.
E)Agenda Approval by Planning and Zoning Commission -Commissioner Johnson moved to
approve the agenda;seconded by Commissioner Mook.Roll call:Ayes:Johnson,Mook,Schmidt,
Streit,Hoifeldt,McCulloh.Nays:None.Absent:Nigro.Motion carried 6 -0 -1.
F)Presentation:Alice's Road Corridor Master Plan -Brad Scheib of Hoisington Koegler Group,
Inc.,presented on vision,guiding principles,and various master plan components.The City Council
and Planning &Zoning Commission discussed the plan.
G)Adjournment by the Planning and Zoning Commission.Commissioner Mook moved to adjourn;
seconded by Commissioner Johnson.Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 6 -O.
H)Adjournment by the City Council.Council Member Stanton moved to adjourn;seconded by
Council Member Harvey.Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 -O.
