SPECIAL MEETING
May 30,2012
A)Call to Order -The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Peard at 5:31 p.m.in the Waukee City Council Chambers.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Shane
Blanchard,Dan Dutcher,Casey L.Harvey,Shelly Hughes,Mike Watts.Absent:None.
Also in attendance:Interim City Administrator Brad Deets,Director of Finance Linda Burkhart,
Director of Public Works John Gibson,Deputy City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett.
C)Agenda Approval -Council Member Watts moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Dutcher.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Dutcher,Harvey,Hughes,Watts.Nays:None.
Motion carried 5 -O.
D)Closed Session:Pursuant to Code of Iowa §388.9(1)to discuss marketing and
pricing strategies or proprietary information if its competitive position would be harmed by
public disclosure not required of potential or actual competitors,and if no public
purpose would be served by such disclosure -Council Member Harvey moved to close the
regular session and enter closed session pursuant to Iowa Code §388.9(1);seconded by Council
Member Hughes.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Dutcher,Harvey,Hughes,Watts.Nays:None.
Motion carried 5 -O.Council entered closed session at 5:33 p.m.
CLOSED SESSION
Council entered regular session at 5:52 p.m.
E)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution authorizing submission of bid-
Council Member Watts moved to approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Harvey.
Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Dutcher,Harvey,Hughes,Watts.Nays:None.Motion carried 5-
