(B)Pledge of Allegiance (C)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Shane Blanchard,Dan Dutcher,Shelly Hughes,Mike Watts.Absent:Council Member Casey L. Harvey. Also present:Interim City Administrator Brad Deets,Director of Finance Linda Burkhart,Director of Public Works John Gibson,City Planner Ben Landhauser,Deputy City Clerk Rebecca D. Schuett,City Engineer Forrest Aldrich,City Attorney Steve Brick. (D)Open Forum (E)Agenda Approval -Council Member Blanchard moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council Member Hughes.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Dutcher,Hughes,Watts.Nays: None.Absent:Harvey.Motion carried 4 -0 -1. (F)Mayor's Report -Mayor Peard wished all a happy New Year and reviewed his upcoming events,including a Bravo Greater Des Moines meeting on 01/07,lunch with State Senator Charles Schneider and Representative Rob Taylor on 01/09,MIALG on 01/09,Greater Des Moines Partnership Annual Dinner on 01/15,Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon on 01/17,MPO Policy Committee meeting on 01/17,Iowa League of Cities Legislative Day on 01/22,and Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on 01/27. (G)Presentations: 1)Dallas County Relay for Life -Presentation made by Theresa Kirby and Terry Snyder of Dallas County Relay for Life,who also challenged the Council to form a Relay for Life team in fundraising competition against other Dallas County city councils. (H)Public Hearings: 1)On plans,specifications,form of contract and proposed estimate of cost for the Little Walnut Creek Regional Lift Station Project -Mayor Peard opened the public hearing and asked if any written correspondence had been received;Interim City Administrator Deets replied in the negative.No comments were made by the public present.Mayor Peard declared the public hearing closed. (I)Public Hearing Action Items: 1)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving plans,specifications, form of contract and proposed estimate of cost for the Little Walnut Creek Regional Lift Station Project -Council Member Dutcher moved to approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Blanchard.Council Member Watts asked if the City of Clive was able to sell capacity to Waukee;Director of Public Works Gibson replied in the negative.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Dutcher,Hughes,Watts.Nays:None.Absent:Harvey.Motion carried 4 -0 -1.(Resolution #13-001) 2)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution awarding contract [Little Walnut Creek Regional Lift Station Project]-Council Member \AJatts moved to approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Hughes.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard, Dutcher,Hughes,Watts.Nays:None.Absent:Harvey.Motion carried 4 -0 -1.The contract was awarded to Correll Contractors,Inc.,of West Des Moines,IA.(Resolution #13- 002) (J)Action Items 1)Consent Agenda:Council Member Blanchard moved to approve the Consent Agenda, removing Invoice #1420345 for Electronic Engineering for $2,593.65 from the 01/07/2013 Bill List;seconded by Council Member Dutcher.Director of Finance Burkhart explained that the item removed from the 01/07/2013 Bill List would be paid by insurance instead of the City.
