(L)Public Hearing Action Items: 1}Ordinance:Consideration of approval of an ordinance to amend Chapter 300,Zoning Ordinance,City of Waukee,Iowa,by changing certain property therein from A·1 [Agricultural District]to R·2 [One and Two Family Residential District](Spyglass Plat 2)[introduction;first reading]-Council Member Blanchard introduced the ordinance and moved to approve the first reading in title only;seconded by Council Member Harvey. Council Member Harvey expressed concern with the lack of parkland in the area;City Planner Landhauser explained that the relatively small size of the plat would require the dedication of parkland just under Y,acre, which did not equate to much parkland between the two Spyglass plats. He added that there would be a connection to the Glynn Village trail system and that the City was looking at possible parkland to the west of the Spyglass plats. Council Member Harvey noted that parkland to the west could only be accessed by crossing a busy roadway.Mr.Landhauser added that parkland could be dedicated on the property to the south of Spyglass Plat 2,but that there were currently no plans to develop that parcel. Council Member Hughes asked if construction traffic would use the existing driveway;Mr. Landhauser replied in the affirmative. Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Harvey,Hughes, McGee,Watts.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 -O.The ordinance was read in title only.
