WORK SESSION MEETING
January 13,2014
A)Call to Order -The work session meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Peard at 5:35 p.m.in the Waukee City Council Chambers.
B)Roll Call-The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Shane
Blanchard,Brian Harrison,Casey L.Harvey,Shelly Hughes,Rick Peterson.Absent:None.
Also in attendance:City Administrator Tim Moerman,Director of Finance Linda Burkhart,Director of
Development Services Brad Deets,Community and Economic Development Director Dan Dutcher,
Police Chief Larry J.Phillips,Fire Chief Clint Robinson,Director of Human Resources Patty Holden,
Library Director Jake Speer,City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett.
C)Agenda Approval-Council Member Harvey moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Hughes.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Harrison,Harvey,Hughes,Peterson.Nays:
None.Motion carried 5 -O.
D)Work Session:
1)FY2015 Budget -The City Council and department directors reviewed those proposed budget
items related to Police/animal control,Fire/EMS,Human Resources,Development
Services/building inspections,Library,City Attorney,mayor/council and elections.(Council
Member Harvey left the meeting at 6:30 p.m.)
E)Comments
Adjournment -Council Member Harrison moved to adjourn;seconded by Council Member Hughes.
Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 -O.
Meeting Adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
