SPECIAL MEETING
October 1,2014
A.Call to Order —The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Peard at.5:05 p.m.in the Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall,230 W.Hickman Rd.
B.Roll Call —The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Shane
Blanchard,Casey L.Harvey,Shelly Hughes,Rick Peterson.Absent:Council Member Brian
Harrison.
Also in attendance:City Administrator Tim Moerman,Director of Development Services Brad Deets,
Director of Public Works John Gibson,City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett,City Attorney Steve Brick.
C.Agenda Approval —Council Member Hughes moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Harvey.Results of vote;Ayes:Blanchard,Harvey,Hughes,Peterson.Nays:None.
Absent:Harrison.Motion carried 4 —0 —1.
D.Closed Session:Pursuant fo Code of iowa $2$.5(1)(c)fo discuss strategy with counselin
matters that are present lyin lifigation or where litigation isimminent where ifs disclosure
would be likely fo prejudice or disadvantage fhe posifion of the governmental bodyin fhat
litigation —Council Member Blanchard moved to close the regular session and enter closed session
pursuant to Iowa Code $21.5(1)(c);seconded by Council Member Harvey.Results of vote:Ayes:
Blanchard,Harvey,Hughes,Peterson.Nays:None.Absent:Harrison.Motion carried 4 —0 —1.
Council entered closed session at 5:06 p.m.
CLOSED SESSION
Council entered regular session at 5:52 p.m.
