SPECIAL MEETING
February 20,2015
A.Call to Order —The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Peard at
11:33a.m.at Waukee City Hall,230 W.Hickman Rd.
B.Roll Call —The f'ollowing members were present:Mayor William F.Peard (via telephone);Council
Members Shane Blanchard (via telephone),Brian Harrison (via telephone),Casey L.Harvey (via
telephone),Rick Peterson (via telephone).Absent:Council Member Shelly Hughes.
Also in attendance:City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett,Police Lt.Troy Mapes.
C.Agenda Approval —Council Member Blanchard moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Harvey.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Harrison,Harvey,Peterson.Nays:None.Absent:
Hughes.Motion carried 4 —0 —1.
D.Action Items:
1)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving temporary parking along
the south side of SE Olson Drive from SE Crabapple Drive east to SE Alice's Road between
the hours of S:00 a.m.and S:00 p.m.on Saturday,February 21,2015,and between the hours
of S:00 a.m.and S:00 p.m.on Sunday,February 22,2015 —Council Member Harrison moved to
approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Blanchard.Council Member Harvey asked
if the police department had any concerns regarding the request;Police Lt.Mapes replied in the
negative.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Harrison,Harvey,Peterson.Nays:None.Absent:
Hughes.Motion carried 4 —0 —1.(Resolution ¹15-059)
F.Comments —Mayor Peard and Council Member Peterson briefly discussed the 02/19 local option
sales tax meeting among Dallas County elected officials.
Council Member Harvey moved to adjourn;seconded by Council Member Harrison.Ayes:All.Nays:None.
Motion carried 4 —0.
Meeting Adjourned at 11:41 a.m.
