SPECIAL MEETING
July 14,2015
A.Call to Order —The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro
Tem Peterson at 12:05 p.m.at Waukee City Hall,230 W.Hickman Rd.
B.Roll Call —The following members were present:Council Members Casey L.Harvey (via
telephone),Shelly Hughes (via telephone),Rick Peterson (via telephone).Absent:Mayor William F.
Peard;Council Members Shane Blanchard,Brian Harrison.(Council Member Harrison began
participation via telephone at 12:08 p.m.)
Also in attendance:City Administrator Tim Moerman,Director of Development Services Brad Deets,
Human Resource Director Patty Holden,City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett.
C.Agenda Approval —Council Member Harvey moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Hughes.Results of vote:Ayes:Harvey,Hughes,Peterson.Nays:None.Absent:
Blanchard,Harrison.Motion carried 3 —0 —2.
D.Agenda Items:
1)Consent Agenda:Council Member Harvey moved to approve the Consent Agenda;seconded
by Council Member Hughes.Results of vote:Ayes:Harvey,Hughes,Peterson.Nays:None.
Absent:Blanchard,Harrison.Motion carried 3 —0 —2.
A.Consideration of approval of a resolution approving construction drawings for Landing at Shadow
Creek Plat 3 (Resolution ¹15-224)
B.Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Copier Lease Agreement with Access
Systems,Inc.[Waukee Human Resource Department](Resolution ¹15-225)
C.Consideration of approval of a resolution approving additional working hours as part of Adecco
Staffing Contract (Resolution ¹15-226)
D.Consideration of approval of a resolution approving revised title and job description for the
Marketing/Communications Director position (Resolution ¹15-227)
2)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the hiring of the
Marketing/Communicafions Director and approving FY2016 wages for said position—
Council Member Harvey moved to approve the resolution hiring Summer Evans as
Marketing/Communications Director;seconded by Council Member Hughes.City Administrator
Moerman briefly reviewed the interview process.(Council Member Harrison began participation
via telephone at 12:08 p.m.)Results of vote:Ayes:Harrison,Harvey,Hughes,Peterson.Nays:
None.Absent:Blanchard.Motion carried 4 —0 —1.(Resolution ¹15-228)
